Who should be the right 10?

Amad long term but there are definitely games we're betting off putting him wing-back, as for young players especially in tight games the 10 position can pass you by. We might prefer him there so he sees more of the ball in a certain game, for example.

personally speaking I'd sell Garnacho and get a specialist for that side in. Someone who play also play 10 and WB the same way Amad can. But preferably with a slightly different skill-set (perhaps more powerful?) so we have more options.

I do rate Garnacho and think he'll have a good career, but I don't think he suits that Amorim system that well, and for the money we'd get we can get a better option

He's not a starter, so we shouldn't really judge him as the expectation that we need Bruno level players everywhere. He's been injured constantly and he was a dumb signing, but if you can get past that and just look at what he can bring if he managed to stay fit, then yeah he's fine in the role he has. Which is being the 4th option for the 10's. Being a player who isn't the first option off the bench to impact games there, I don't know what people expect. The injuries are the worst part about him, but he's actually a decent player if fit. Big if though. Couldn't sell him if we tried anyway so no use in pretending like he's not part of the squad.
Hopefully he can go out on loan, even as a 4th option he provides very little apart from decent pressing.

His expected goals is actually quite high, he has been finishing very poorly, far worse than even Garnacho. If his finishing would become reliable after 3 years, he might have some use.

As for now, he doesn't score, doesn't create. As one of the 3 offensive players in Amorim's set up, that is basically useless and not good enough as a squad option.

But apart from that, this former CL winner is becoming ridiculous. It is not relevant to his career at United, at all.

I wouldn't rule out Antony getting another shot as the right 10 with Amad RWB. They looked OK together in the short time they were tried out. If he comes back full of confidence and has a good pre season, he could be an asset. Him and Cunha supported by amad, Dorgu and Bruno isn't that bad of a team. Especially if we manage to get a striker in too

Gibbs-White would be the perfect addition for Amorin's system. He's got the quality, the energy, the hunger, the work rate and the goal threat

Mount, Amad, Bruno, Garna.

We have more pending issues at CF and CM.

For what it’s worth, I think fans need to get used to Dalot being first choice wingback, the manager seems delighted with him.

The no10's are pivotal to this system working

Mount has been here 2 years and barely kicked a ball
Amad has arguably played his best for us at RWB
Bruno has played mostly as a CM and lacks the ball carrying ability Amorin wants from a 10
Garna is a winger, he's had plenty of chances due to there being no one else to play there but he hasn't really impressed as a 10

Zirkzee has done ok also, but not the calibre we would want there.

So of the 4 options we have at 10 - probably only Amad would strike me as being in contention for being a regular starter there, possibly none of them if Amad plays RWB and Bruno stays at CM.

So we'd need to sign 2 no10's in my eye's and keep Mount and Zirkzee as rotation options, with Bruno being able to cover if needed. Garnacho will be sold.

Agree we need a striker and a CM as well, but we cannot go into next season with the 4 you listed as our no10's.

Frimpong does only cost ~8m more than him. He would be a massive upgrade on Dalot, whereas Cherki would be a great addition too, but we'd have a bit of a luxury problem with Amad (prefer him more offensively)
I was under the impression that Frimpong would be above 50m while we could get Cherki around 35-40m (Not the january "release clause" but Lyon having to sell to balance their books).

Frimpong has a release clause of €40m

He’d bring good leadership qualities as well. I’m fairly sure I’ve read he was a big United fan growing up but you’d have to think Forest would want huge money.

No chance we get him if Forrest get CL football.

Should be Bruno.
Ideally we bring in Gyokeres, Cunha and Ederson. That's £180m in transfer fees.

--------------Gyokeres----------------
-----Cunha--------------------Bruno
Dorgu---Ederson ---Ugarte---Amad
--Yoro------- Maguire------Mazraoui
------------------Onana----------------
This makes us top 4 challengers next year, maybe even more. Even with Onana in goal.
Mastantuano as Bruno's successor in the 10 and current backup would be even better.

I think it will be a case of Bruno at 10, Amad at RWB, and another player at CM vs Amad at 10, Bruno at CM, and another player at RWB. I would prefer the latter.

Amad’s been better as a wing back because of how piss poor everything behind has been when he’s played as an attacking midfielder, for most of the season he had Mazraoui behind him who whilst a great right back and a good right sided centre back is about as much an overlapping right wing back as I am.

You put someone like Frimpong behind Amad and Bruno as a creative orchestrator in midfield and a proper striker up front and the debate about whether Amad is better as a wing bank or an attacking midfielder goes away, also the whole inverted wing back on their unnatural side NEEDS to end as that’s a major flaw in the system as the opposition know that our wing backs will cut back inside EVERY time so press us until we lose the ball .
