Who was the poshest United player?

Ruud Van Nistelrooy seemed quite posh for a footballer. He also happened to have a degree in Economics.

It's so hard to put someone in what you would define as posh though. You're not exactly going to get some posh English diplomat's son play football enough to get good enough to be a pro.

Not Man United of course but Luca Vialli grew up in a 60 bedroom castle. Not sure if the concept of "posh" translates to Italy but his family were very wealthy.

Patrick Bamford is related to the bloke who started JCB (which stands for Joseph Cyril Bamford), went to a private school and turned down a scholarship to Havard University. He's the poshest English player I can think of.

Not necessarily the poshest but certainly a well educated lad with his masters degree in economics. Funny really but he got some stick for that.
 
Has to be David Beckam, no? He wasn't posh at the beginning, but he definitely became one.

Even more crazy is that the majority of the people doing the talking will likely be middle aged white men, so I don't think you have a leg to stand on when critiquing the fashion of young black players.
Had the same thing at the start of last season when people on here were fascinated with Smalling's dreadlocks. If you don't like it mind your business and focus elsewhere, not everything requires a comment from you, especially as some of the people talking used to have that stupid haircut where you gelled your hair down over your ears so it looked like a helmet. Nobody is looking for fashion advice from you, trust me

It's people having a laugh at a couple of multi-millionaire footballers having an extravagant sense of fashion, why are you so het up about it? Nobody is claiming to be Gok Wan.

Footballers throwing thousands at designer labels and hoping something sticks has been going on forever and it's absolutely fair game to laugh at. Peter Crouch in his biography talks about it and how certain players dressed ridiculously and were constantly getting free clothes thrown at them which they cobbled together. You're taking it all far too seriously.

I'm a 42 year old white male and i'm sorry to be a prick (in some's eyes) but if you don't need to wear glasses to see what are you doing? Seriously I don't get it, is it fashionable to do this? Sun glasses yes, ok, I get the idea of them but glass, not lenses, not tinted glass just plane glass:wenger::wenger:.

If being their age gives the right to hold an opinion, I'm 26 and English also, the same as Lingard, so I suppose I qualify. I'm unsure why you've brought race into it as they're both English, but because you have, imagine Phil Jones rocking up with a diamond engraved Jonesy necklace with a glittery suit and trainers. He'd get destroyed and you'd take the piss as well, Rashford being a certain demographic doesn't excuse him from the same ridicule.

Glasses? Well I have heard before of some people wearing glasses... not prescription, just for fashion, but I don't think it's a trend.

You managed to leave out your ethnicity/race.

I brought race into it because as stated, I found it very weird that a group of middle aged white men sat behind computers found Chris Smalling's dreadlocks so ridiculous (I doubt any of them would be as brave to tell a rasta to his face that they find his hair ridiculous but that's a different argument). Like I said just keep it moving, we were talking about posh players and again it became about bashing a culture that you don't understand. You know how ignorant it comes across seeing seemingly big grown men doing 'If I don't like it, it must be shit'
