yes, the way liverpool play the game these days, it's not surprising that all their players are just defenders in disguise.

Yeah I know, John Arne Riise really struggled to get his shot past Barthez. And Mickey had to leap so high to get his second in, and well he had to run at lightning pace to get away from your defenders for his first!

Well, that was a good natured response to a reasonable question wasn't it B?

Personally, I think it will be Alex himself, mid-season after Utd are out of the CL... And I said just the same pre-season...

No reason for him to stay by then and the PLC will be desperate to rebuild. He can't pull names now, he's going and everyone knows.

Well, now there is an interesting thought... IQs...

Actually, I really believe that as Fergy has made the call and said he will go, there is no need to keep him any longer than necessary. If the team carries on like last week, CL progress is very unlikely. The PL too... But that isn't even much of a priority after so many recent successes.

The key will be his successor - if the chosen man (woman?) becomes available earlier than May, I reckon Utd would be foolish not to take him. Why wait?

Then he will have to embark on a five-year plan or something to get things back to where they were. You are dreaming if you think the new man will not bring the proverbial broom with him.

I would expect a sale over the Summer - and the odds on Beckham going, along with Keane must be high. One is worth a fortune right now, the other has peaked.

Without the CL next year, Utd need cash to rebuild.

Liverpool took too long to do this... This was our mistake of the 90's. I'm sure Fergy would not stand in the new man's way.

Now if that's evidence of a low IQ, I confess.

There's no way anyone will come in until Sir Alex officially retires from his post - if you didn't know that, you have no frigging clue about the great man

A lion in the London zoo was lying in the sun licking its arse
when a visitor turned to the keeper and said,

'That's a docile old thing isn't it?'

'No way', said the keeper, 'its the most ferocious beast in thezoo.'

'Why just an hour ago it dragged a Liverpool Fan into the cage and
completely devoured him.'

'Hardly seems possible' said the astonished visitor, 'why is it lying
there licking its arse?'

'The poor thing is trying get the taste out of its mouth.'

A totally relevant post of course...

As for Fergy...

The premise above was that if the CL was out of sight for next season, Fergy would not stand in someone else's way. Why should he, he's got nothing to prove - he's done most things in football and will retire as a legend regardless of this season. I can't see him deliberately sticking around if the team is out of Europe, out of the FA up and lingering around 8th or 9th in the PL...

And I can't see the PLC wanting him to stick around if the new man is available.

The bit you obviously don't like is the suggestion that Utd might even struggle for a Uefa Cup place next year...

Well, on recent form, that would be just about right. Been to the bookie recently? The odds have been changed quite considerably on Utd winning anything. So, if I've got a low IQ, at least I'm in company with the professionals...

Why don't you stick your necks out and tell us all exactly where Utd will be in the PL on January 1st 2002...

What you are going to find out now is that the little teams will start to have a go at you and there are likely to be one or two more Bolton's on the way... That's the way it is when the empire crumbles.

We've seen it happen to us...

I do but my dad's a socuser, his dad's a scouser, his dad's dad's a scouser, his mum's a scouser, I've got scouse cousins, uncle's, aunts, 2nd cousins, 3rd cousins, great uncles, great aunts the list is endless! So I've got a reason to support the reds!

And does that apply to all those on KT who don't come from Liverpool - of which there are as many as there are non-Mancs on here.

Or is it a case of good reasons for Scousers, but glory-seeking for Mancs.
