Actually, I really believe that as Fergy has made the call and said he will go, there is no need to keep him any longer than necessary. If the team carries on like last week, CL progress is very unlikely. The PL too... But that isn't even much of a priority after so many recent successes.
The key will be his successor - if the chosen man (woman?) becomes available earlier than May, I reckon Utd would be foolish not to take him. Why wait?

There's no way anyone will come in until Sir Alex officially retires from his post - if you didn't know that, you have no frigging clue about the great man

Then he will have to embark on a five-year plan or something to get things back to where they were. You are dreaming if you think the new man will not bring the proverbial broom with him.
I would expect a sale over the Summer - and the odds on Beckham going, along with Keane must be high. One is worth a fortune right now, the other has peaked.
Without the CL next year, Utd need cash to rebuild.
Liverpool took too long to do this... This was our mistake of the 90's. I'm sure Fergy would not stand in the new man's way.
Now if that's evidence of a low IQ, I confess.</strong><hr></blockquote>
The CL statement makes you look a right moron.
Any more pearls of wisdom, dipper?
