Very impressed by Tuanzebe/AWB and Fred /McT, however the star was Ole
1. Setting up in a 3-5-2
2. Playing Telles
3. Benching Pogba and then bringing him on
4. Switching to 4-2-2-2 at the right time

There is NO EVIDENCE that Poch is better than Ole and that Ole is not a top-drawer manager. Managers at Utd have 4 main jobs (man-management, recruitment, improve young players and tactics) and Ole has shown he is great at all of them.

That is debatable to say the least. His man-management is good and the players like him, and he has improved young lads like Rashford, Greenwood, Williams, McT etc. However, for the other jobs, Maguire has been a bad buy for £80m and James, while a low-risk buy, has been a waste of £15m with his end product since October on par with that of Andreas and Lingard. About tactics, he got it spot on last night and dictated the game from his technical area in the mould of Guardiola and Simeone. However, in many other games, for example Palace this and last season, Burnley at home last season, West Ham at home etc, his 4-2-3-1 and evident lack of good coaching on how to break down low-blocks made it more difficult than necessary for our players. By all means, our players’ quality should have seen us beat those teams, especially at Old Trafford.

In conclusion, he has done alright in improving players, man-management and never hammering his players in public, but his tactics against smaller teams still have a way to go. If he improves that, we’ll break down those small teams, win more games and he’ll be a far better and more complete manager.
