Favourite Player - The pre-injury roadrunner version of Owen at the 1998 WC
Most Disliked Player - Heskey. He was playing up front for England at TWO world cups. Two.
Favourite Goal - Beckham vs Argentina penalty.
Favourite Team - Brazil 02. Last time an entertaining team won it.
Shock and Awe Moment - Owen vs Argentina. 6 year old me thought it was incredible, not much has changed since.

Best Tournament - Before my time but 1982 showcased an unparelleled portfolio of stunning goals and gripping matches. 1998 was the best of the last 25 years though with big nations turning up and clashing compellingly in the knockout stages. The group stages of 2006 were vibrant, but it just fizzled out a little in the knockouts.
Worst Tournament - 2010. Edges 2002 which was anti-climactic, but 2010 took a couple of weeks to get going and even in the knockout stages it was pretty stale.
Favourite Player - Lothar Matthaus 1990. Maradona in '86 was obviously the pinnacle, Baggio and Hagi in '94 were talismanic, Rivaldo and Ronaldo saved '02, Cannavaro was impeccable in '06, but Matthaus gave the perfect, box-to-box midfield performance.
Most Disliked Player - Schumacher. Shame that France team didn't go further in '82.
Favourite Goal - Maradona v England in 1986. Bergkamp v Argentina in 1998 after an absorbing match wins for drama.
Favourite Team - Either Denmark '86 or Romania '94. Both brilliant, effervescent attacking sides. Shout out for the entertainment of Cameroon in '90.
Shock and Awe Moment - Zidane's headbutt.

Best Tournament - 2006, great games, great goals and quite surprising winners. Just an all round good tournament.
Worst Tournament - 2010, the games were usually boring and a lot of big teams were really underwhelming.
Favourite Player - Zidane in 2006, he was fantastic.
Most Disliked Player - Suarez. Ignoring his Liverpool connection and the Evra saga, his handball and celebration against Ghana was disgraceful.
Favourite Goal - Grosso vs Germany in terms of drama.
Favourite Team - Brazil 2002, what a team that was.
Shock and Awe Moment - Could only be Zidane's headbutt in 2006. On his last ever game as well! Incredible.

Shock and Awe Moment - I'd probably say the headbutt or Ronaldo's seizure before the 98 final, but for the sake of variety, Howard Webb's three yellow cards.

Best Tournament - I think 2006 just edges out 2008 - just because there was a bit more drama

Worst Tournament - n/a - I love the World Cup, and have loved all 5 of the tournaments I watched

Favourite Player - Zidane - one of my favourite ever players... certainly my favourite player to have not played for United, and the World Cups were his stage.

Most Disliked Player - Luis Suarez for that handball... god I hated him after that, despite it being a completely sensible thing for him to do.

Favourite Goal - There was something special about that Maxi Rodriguez volley in 2006... that one has always stayed with me, also Tshabalala's opening cracker in 2010 was a brilliant goal for S.A, but ultimately, it has to be Denis - sorry - DENNIS BERGKAMP, DENNIS BERGKAMP, DENNIS BERGKAMP, DENNIS BERGKAMP.... OUGHHHHHH!


Favourite Team - Ghana 2010 - The African team at an African tournament... I was as heartbroken when they got knocked out as I would have been for a United loss I was that invested in their progression.
