Best Tournament - my choice would be 2006, the uprising for the Germany, the retiring Zidane, the CR7 - Rooney, the Argentinian team
Worst Tournament - 2002, too many underdogs

Most Disliked Player - i never like Rivaldo
Favourite Goal - Fabio Grosso against Germany, it was really2 like a drama, where Pirlo directed it

Best Tournament: Japan-Korea 2002, the memories, watched the Ireland v Germany game on what was supposedly the biggest TV screen in Europe at the time in the Gleneagle Hotel in County Kerry, Ireland, with about 500 people, when Niall Quinn flicked on that ball to Robbie Keane in the last minute .... GOAL! the place erupted.
Worst Tournament: South Africa 2010, can't really remember much of it, think that says a lot. Dem vuvuzelas' tho.
Favourite Player: Ronaldinho, that was his "coming of age" so to speak, he was awesome, his performance against England in the quarter final of the 2002 WC was mesmerizing.

Best Tournament - 98. A lot of heavyweight teams that year.
Worst Tournament - 2002. Sat in a bar at like 7 in the morning with a pint before work watching England vs Nigeria is a horrible memory. Generally a poor quality tournament too with very few countries sending vintage teams. Though South Korea & their referees were good for a laugh.
Favourite Player - Roger Milla. I was actually gutted when England knocked out Cameroon, courtesy of two cheating dives from that cheating cheater Lineker.
Most Disliked Player - Gary Lineker. Cheat.
Favourite Goal - Basically any goal scored by Brazil in 1982. Think of each type of awesome goal there is - team goals, long range screamers, curling free kicks, bicycle kicks, chips, eye of the needle through balls - and Brazil scored a great one that year.

Took some soul searching in the shower to reach my conclusions. From my first tournament in 1990 onwards...
Best Tournament - A toss up between 1994 and 1998. I'll give it to 1998 simply because it was better in semis and the final.
Worst Tournament - I know 1990 was a footballing disaster. And yet, there's a sweet childhood memory about that. My worst is 2002. The excitement due to the early shocks ended when we reaches the latter stages and realized that while those teams earned their place (not so much South Korea, some would say), they weren't true replacement for the quality that went out early.

Favourite Team - Juggling my memory, that 1994 Romania team must have been close. But I'll probably give it to 1998 Netherlands.
Shock and Awe Moment - The last two finals going into extra time, when I'm working in a newspaper. Deadline.
Best Tournament - A toss up between 1994 and 1998. I'll give it to 1998 simply because it was better in semis and the final.
Worst Tournament - I know 1990 was a footballing disaster. And yet, there's a sweet childhood memory about that. My worst is 2002. The excitement due to the early shocks ended when we reaches the latter stages and realized that while those teams earned their place (not so much South Korea, some would say), they weren't true replacement for the quality that went out early.
