Yes I can hear you Clem Fandango!
What's Your Worst Ever United XI?

Right, I did one of these threads in the newbies, so I'm posting it in the main forum to get responses. The rules are simple: only name players who you have seen, so hopefully we can get a few worst XI's through the years.

I figured the Best Ever XI's have been done before, so here's my twist.

Here goes for me (post 1989):

Goram (although Taibi gets an honourable mention)

May (for the time he spent on the treatment table - plus look where he's standing when Fergie and Schmeichel lift the European Cup)
Prunier
Donaghy
Martin

Miller
Kleberson
The Djemba Twins
Cruyff (should have bought his father, even if he was 45 at the time)
Milne

Bellion

Try to do a search before you post a new thread, might work! :P
C'mon man....Be realistic, are you saying peeps should allways search through the archives before posting.:boring:

BTW.... Thats one hell of a crap team you got their Frosty... LOL

Any room for spider man in there (Ashley Grimes), our very own Peter Crouch.

Kleberson wasn't shit, didn't you ever watch him play? And it's also a bit unfair to say May was crap because he was injured a lot.

Klebeson wasnt a shit player. Up to the point we bought him..

And I still cant believe anyone would say Goram was worse than Taibi...

Its physically impossible to find a worse goalkeeper than Taibi...

Siveabeck was worse than May !! And what about the Gibsons (***** and Terry) - oh the dark old days. Then there was Neil Webb.........

Neil Webb wasnt that bad... Far from it.

Ralphie Milne,
Garry Birtles
Peter Davenport.
Taibi
Djemba x 2
Miller
Bellion

All far worse players than Webby

Fred for all you say about Webby, Davenport was another of the Forest misfits as such, but unlike Webby put his heart into playing for United. Considering he was and probably still is a scouser at heart he put more into United than Webb.

I wouldn't put Davenport into any worse sides, as his effort wasn't bad and he wasn't by far the worse player we had at the time he was here. This may even sound odd for a United fan to say this, but I liked Davenport. He may not have scored the goals that we wanted him too, but his style of play was more like Scholes in that he would drop off the front man and though he couldn't pass as well as Scholes it was a similar style. He also played out of position often on the wings, which is more than some players we can mention.

I here by close the defence of Peter Davenport.

Martin is a United legend.

From what Ive seen….

1. Goram
2. Grimes
3. Sivebaeck
4. Prunier
5. Donaghy
6. Veron
7. Kleberson
8. Chadwick
9. Terry Gibson
10. Gary Birtles
11. Ralph Milne
Then there was the likes of Alan Brazil, Remi Moses, Jim Leighton, ***** Gibson, etc.

Now Im not saying they are all shit players, but they sure were a pile of shite when playing for us.

Thats a recurring theme on quite a few United players in the last 20 years.

Great playing for someone else, but shit for us.

We do seem to get the "the next big thing" only for them to fail to meet the grade at United.

I think Djemba Djemba is about the only one I would say was definitely shit no matter who he played for. Fergusons worst moment of madness ever buying him...

Alan Brazil

Alan Brazil, Arbroath striker
Thought poor old Alan Brazil got a hard time off the United fans, if i remember right he was bought to subsitute sparky when he went to Barcelona and he never quiet replaced the golden boy.

Was behind the goal at Leicester when he scored a couple of crackers but i also remember him playing in a freindly against Oldham.
He made a run through on goal and Stapleton tried to thread it through to him, the ball hit Brazil on the arse and the cowd got on Brazils back, it wasnt his fault though it was a crap through ball by stapleton.

I think it was probablly down to the fact that his hair was like coco tha clown and all he needed was a squirty flower on his lapel, these days he could do an andy johnson and it wouldnt look too bad.

His goal scoring record for United was actually pretty good.

Take away every goal that Cruyff scored (granted not any) and you take away vital points. He got 8 goals in 15 starts.

Definately not in the worst XI club... I remember the 70's and 80's and Jordi wouldn't make the reserve worst XI

Are you really saying that Remi Moses was a poor player for us? If so, did you actually see him play?

He was absolutely brilliant, great tackler, good short crisp passing and read the game well.......

In fact, just before his injury he was playing so well he was called up into the England squad as his form for us was so good........

You have got this one wrong!!!

I get the feeling people start putting names on these lists without actually ever seeing these players play. Remi Moses was quality, injury got the better of him unfortunately.

Agree about Remi - he was a tough little fecker. Pity about his injury - what the hell was wrong with United through the eighties? They always seemed to have a lot of key players with serious injuries! Lack of fitness under Big Ron perhaps?

Slightly unfair I grant you, and he was very unlucky with injuries, and I think if his father had been a bricklayer he wouldn't be in my list. Still, I wasn't around to watch the teams of the 70's and 80's, so can only go on what I've seen

I never rated Blomqvist but I wouldn't put him in a worst XI.

There were alot of players who came through the ranks that never really made it and moved on. Some of the goalies were pretty average. Walsh springs to mind.

Jordi carried a heavy reputation with that name and it was always going to be hard for him.

He's the Sean Lennon of football.

:nono: David May was unfortunate with injuries but did his job when called upon and didn't complain.

Urrrmm... Yes their has.

And Remi Moses was a credit to the Red shirt, their would be a place in our current squad for a player like him.
