You're talking about him as if he didn't go to Chelsea the season after they finished 10th and take them to 30 wins in the season with both Pep and Klopp in the league. As for Inter, they had been treading water since they won the treble. He goes in, gets them 1 point behind Juve who by that point had 8 in a row and then won the league the year after. Even at Juve, season before he got there he took them from 7th to champions.
I get Conte isn't everyone's cup of tea due to his attitude but trying to pick holes in the resume is pushing it a bit. Only real blip for him was his second season at Chelsea but for most of that season it seemed like he was daring the club to sack him.
10th? You'd think he took over Everton or Aston Villa. That squad won the PL the year prior, don't let Mourinho's antics cloud your judgement. And while Pep and Klopp were in the league at the time, they were both building their squads. Once they got up and running they ran away with the league.
Remind me again, how did he fare in his second season at Chelsea? 4th, behind the past it Mourinho as well. How's his European record?
I can go on and on. But he reminds me of Ole in a lot of ways. Simply because all of his achievements are in the lack of a serious contender. Take Ole, finished 2nd and 3rd. Sound impressive, but when you look deeper it's because all the top dogs have had their issues. Once they got their shit together, he simply got exposed.
Now, I'm not comparing Conte to Ole. Not in the slightest. But the similarities are there, down to the European record as well.
By how people are banging on about him, you'd think we're getting prime Jose who actually had to contend with Wenger, Sir Alex and Pep in Europe and Spain and still come out on top in many of those encounters.
Not worth it in my book, not in the slightest.
