What he did do was very good though! Came on when England were 2-1down alsoMason played about 30 minutes, wasn't very involved.

They played a diamond and he was the number 10 dropping deeper, then switched to the LW a bit later. Did well considering.Tweet

Decent win in the end. Horrible pitch and toxic Turkish atmosphere. Nketiah our best player. Greenwood got about 30 minutes and showed his quality in moments. Ended up with Brewster, Nketiah and Greenwood on at the end so 3 number 9s?! Not sure where Greenwood was supposed to playing really.
Formation and selection looked shite. Shoehorning rated players in. Looked like 5-3-2 to me. Admittedly my stream wasn’t the best. They played a diamond and he was the number 10 dropping deeper, then switched to the LW a bit later. Did well considering.
The pitch looked awful and heavy.
Yep don’t rate boothroyd at all. Perhaps this squad lacks natural width or the front boys are just so talented we have to get them on the pitch. Seemed a weird game.Formation and selection looked shite. Shoehorning rated players in. Looked like 5-3-2 to me. Admittedly my stream wasn’t the best.
Yep but i think this team "Bursik - Lamptey, Latibeaudiere, Oxford, B.Williams - Gomes, McGuane, Gallagher - Clarke, Loader, Ennis" would be still pretty okay for that level.I think its the worst squad out of all the groups in this break though. The result makes sense considering the strengths and weaknesses of the group.
The U20 level is not really important unless it's a World Cup season.Does anyone know how eligible players are allocated to each age group?
For example you'd think the best players would be in the u21s, then the second best in the u20s etc etc, but it always seems like the u19s are stronger than the u20s.
I couldn't watch the match because of work but sorry mate that wasn't a "decent win".....i don't accept the excuses that the squad is very young and they haven't played much senior football because this turkish side is not good (For example that would be as our senior side would only win 3-2 against Ireland or Greece)......with the right coach (Like you have rightly said in a other post "Formation and selection looked shite. Shoehorning rated players in") the result should have been a easy win.Decent win in the end. Horrible pitch and toxic Turkish atmosphere. Nketiah our best player. Other results17s beat Austria 4-2 to get in the final. Xavi Simons managed to get sent off within a few minutes of coming on.

Team18s drew 1-1 with Brazil but were supposed to have been quite poor.
Bellingham looks like the one who made the initial surging drive with the ball with the outlet pass, which eventually found its way to Barry who got the assist. What a goal this was for the 17s, think it’s Louie Barry to Jude Bellingham for the finish.

You’re right, it is Bellingham driving through midfield, the goal scorer was Xavi Simons.Bellingham looks like the one who made the initial surging drive with the ball with the outlet pass, which eventually found its way to Barry who got the assist.
Thanks
It was. That was a superb goal saving tackle from Aarons. Hopefully he’s not hurt too badly.
All this talent should be better than this.
It’s always like this with Boothroyd, less than the sum of our parts but mostly seem to get the win, There’s no patterns of play, just give it to Nelson or Foden and hope they do something.England u21s remind me uncannily of the England seniors under Sven.
Some nice football and a fairly decent record due to the sheer quality of the players but no real tactical identity either.
I watched the Germany game, we were the more talented side but conceded from a corner and Germany saw out the game by digging in with a strong defensive display. Another day we would have got something. The U19's have lost 0-1 a friendly against Germany in Steinbach.

Probably Jones in the first half. Doyle looked good when he finally came on and Saka dangerous when he was moved from left back to left wing. Thanks mate
Best player/players in your opinion?
Not suprised about that.Probably Jones in the first half. Doyle looked good when he finally came on and Saka dangerous when he was moved from left back to left wing.
He’s playing senior football now in The Championship so he might not be in this group for much longer.@Classical Mechanic
