I'm more optimistic than what our recent form suggests.

So it looks like Ole is staying and there are multiple threads to gripe about that; looking at what's coming up, objectively speaking, and in consideration of our squad, morale and the opposition, how do you see the following games going:

Watford (A)
Villarreal (A) CL
Chelsea (A)
Arsenal (H)
C. Palace (H)
Young Boys (H) CL

Given the squad we have, and the fact we have Ronaldo, is there a turnaround in the offing? I'm not trying to bait - some people genuinely believe so - and if you think no there isn't, there's no need for a tirade as to why not. It's just that when push comes to shove, do your thoughts align with your feelings? It's easier to predict a gloomy run in line with your thoughts, but we've still got an exceptional squad who have it in them to go on a run under anybody's tutelage.

Can we try and keep the Ole stuff out of this or to a bare minimum, as thoughts you have about him have undoubtedly been espoused over the international break at the very least. This is purely about the fixtures we have and the teams we go into them with - if you think it'll be a continuation of what we saw pre-break, just list your results and a breakdown of the why's if you wish, but again, please try to not make this thread a conflation of many others on the site right now.
I think we may lose every single game.

The problem with trying to predict our results is that it very much depends how we choose to set-up.

If we try to play the high-line, 'progressive' football we started the season with, we could easily lose every game.

If we play the football we know we can play i.e. last season's 4-2-3-1, we'll pick up reasonable but unspectacular results

Watford (A) - win from behind
Villarreal (A) CL - loss
Chelsea (A) - loss
Arsenal (H) - draw
C. Palace (H) - win from behind
Young Boys (H) CL - draw

Good news is after a few tough fixtures against the likes of Young Boys, we'll have a few easier league games after that.

We'll comfortbly beat Watford, impossible not to with our squad, but the rest I see us struggling for draws even. Hard to predict what's the latest last minute tactic he goes with, after assembling one of the most expensive squads in modern football over last three years.

There’s a chance we might be out of the champions league group stages and well out of a top 4 place (possibly 6 points or more). It is that dire and I can’t believe it’s being allowed to continue on like this.

The only guaranteed winnable game out of thos fixtures based on our form and tactical approach is Young Boys, who beat us away from home. Watford could be a banana skin because they will be up for it and Ranieri will outfox Ole easily. Villarreal is a loss for sure. Chelsea will beat us. Arsenal is a draw. Palace could beat us. Realistically we will be doing well to can win 3, draw 2, and lose 1 of those games, but we'll probably win 2, draw 3, and lose 1.

You didn't answer the question, but sounds like we can put you down for...

Watford (A) = W
Villarreal (A) = W
Chelsea (A) = W
Arsenal (H) = W
C. Palace (H) = W
Young Boys (H) = W

As Ole's boys roar back as they get to grips with the fluid 3-5-2 gegenpress system.

I'm pessimistic and a bit a baffled by the decision for the available players and coaching staff to have so much time off during the international break. I'm a bit worried it may be terminal until there's changes.

Watford (A) Draw
Villarreal (A) Loss
CL Chelsea (A) Loss
Arsenal (H) Draw
C. Palace (H) Win
Young Boys (H) CL Win

Watford (A) - Win, fall behind early to a howler by our defence or a dead-ball into the area. Then begin to attack and take the game late on.

Villarreal (A) CL - draw, 0 - 0 with neither side showing much attacking intent.

Chelsea (A) - Loss, both sides sit back to defend and counter. Looks like another nil-nil game but United defence/goaltending gift Chelsea a goal late-on to lose it.

Arsenal (H) - Draw, exciting game that ends in a 2 - 2 draw.

C. Palace (H) - Win, outplayed by a clearly superior Palace side but win 2 - 1 based on two exceptional goals scored against the run of play by United.

Young Boys (H) CL - win, Sloppy game with a late goal for the win and United squeak through the group and into the knock-out phase.

Young Boys (H) CL - Convincing 3-0 win
