Seriously, what we lack right now are a second WC forward and depth. The latter of which can be fixed if we manage to sell some of the extras(odriozola, vallejo, ceballos, brahim, odegaard, mayoral, jovic, mariano...). The former is more difficult, but here too we have assets to make it happen imo

Rather, getting rid of Bale, Marcelo, Isco and Hazard without paying them in full will be the hardest thing to do...

They just got to the semi final of the CL and could still win the league which would be twice in a row. I wouldn't say it is a massive rebuild job.

Modric 35, ramos 35, benzema 33, marcelo 33, kroos 31, hazard 30 nacho 31, casimero 29, carvahal 29...

The spine (modirc, ramos, benzema and kroos) are not going to be easy or cheap to replace. Collapse of the ESL, covid hitting the finances of the club, unwanted players on very high wages etc.

Will be interesting to see who comes in and how they go about replacing that spine.

Kroos is 31, Casemiro is 29, Carvajal is 29. Those guys aren't anywhere near done. We don't have to replace them right now

Sergio Ramos was still his usual great self this season, it's likely he still has at least another one in him, but he's probably going to leave. That said, we signed Alaba, and Militao's form of late means we should be more or less fine there. Nacho is a solid backup(and also, again, 31, still several seasons in front of him), Modric should be Kroos backup, and Marcelo is done and will be let go for free so long as he finds a new club

For better or worse, a lot of the 'renewal' is done. Whether the new players can be as good as the old ones is a separate issue.
