Can people shut up about his stamina issues now? He's been finishing games strongly for awhile now.
Stamina is no longer an issue and let's hope goals aren't either.
It will just take 1 game after playing 4-5 games on the trott in a short span where he might not play so well and get subbed at the 60-70 min mark and people will start again (though I hope not). Been seeing these kind of performances come for a while.

The thing about the WBA game performance was that the whole team was playing pretty well and the question some will still ask is is can he play well enough when the team isn't? It's really hard to say because usually when a CM is playing well, it usually shows because the rest of the team is as well. That I think is the problem with his and the rest of the CM that get blamed for a lot our away performances last season. We collectively play shit and it will be some individual players faults for not stepping up, not that everyone affected each others performances on the day.

Anyhoo - back to cheery thoughts. What a fantastic goal and that confidence is growing - he had a very good shot saved as well by that guy that was giving me an ulcer today.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
It's just another example of how the manager knows best. Who'd have thought that Scholes would retire but Anderson would step up and take control of our midfield. Sometimes I begin to think it's just lucky that these things fall into place like this for us, but Fergie probably knew full well that Anderson could produce this when he's made the main man in midfield. Brilliant stuff.

In fairness we all knew that he was one of the most talented players in the world, some lost faith, but the lad had a terrible time and timing with his injuries, he never had a full pre season with us for instance. Watch him go now.

i am sure he will go on and has a very good season as long as he can stay clear out of injuries. 10 goals is not an impossible target for ando too.

Good performance tonight, wonderful goal as well but what really impressed me was his defensive responsibility and reading of the play when protecting our back 4.

I thought he did very well. Unlike the West Brom game where he kept getting caught ahead of the ball, his positioning this time was really good.

Welbeck with his assist and goal was the obvious MOTM. But it was Ando that enabled/allowed the team to tick forward.

very very good last night, great defensive maturity in his play, and good to see his stamina stood up to the test last night. Love it when he accelerates from deep to the opposition box

For a Brazilian, he's a terrible dancer. Played fantastic last night though.

He was fanatstic to watch last night long may it continue. I admit I was one who had written him off but he's such a likeable bloke you really want him to do well at United. The season is young but he's made a good start hope he can carry it on

:D

It's almost like he is bored and decides to show a turn of pace, and slaloms past people into the opposition box, and then abruptly stops :lol:

He does this 3-4 times every match, I can't wait till he starts doing it 3-4 times a half...he'll create a lot of havoc and at the very least earn free kicks.

Yeah we are still to see him fully complete those awesome runs with a goal or an assist. He's come close quite a few times, but he's either chosen the safe option like last night or his effort's been weak.

Such a talented player. I was reading on RAWK and they all still think he's absolutely rubbish. How are the other oppo fans an media talking about him in UK?

After scoring 2 goals in his first 127 games for Manchester United, Anderson has netted 4 in his last 5 - all at the Stretford End.
Our goal scoring midfielder then ;)

He seems to be seen as an overweight flop by a lot of outside fans.

I know that's not entirely serious but I always thought his lack of goals was a mental block, rather than a fundamental flaw in his game. He's taking his opportunities so calmly these days. Total contrast to the nervy way he'd snatch at shots before he broke his duck. I see no reason he couldn't get double figures this season.

Hopefully his time has now come to be a goalscoring midfielder

Would love to see him hit double figures for a number of reasons

I agree with you. I don't remember the match, but he finished of a chance with his right foot with excellent composure in a pre-season match. Contrast that to some of his efforts in his first two seasons and the difference is immense.

We can't stop here. This is bat country.
Has anyone got a gif of that run he made, where he was inside our half, about 3 Spurs midfielders round him and he just put on the turbo boost and cut through them, playing a lovely ball out to Nani on the right, who crossed to Rooney, who missed the sitter.

From Olly in another thread:

That doesn't actually confuse Lennon though does it?! If anything Anderson looks more confused

I love this lad, I've always maintained he has the talent to become a fantastic player, so many have got caught up over Fabregas who is simply unnaturally good in CM for a person his age, most overs, seemingly Anderson included don't start really kicking on until 25/26.

So everything from him at the moment is just a bonus in that sense, another player who didn't look upto much at 23/24 was Sneijder, all the talent in the world, but looked like he could go either way.

I believe Anderson has all the natural attributes to become a midfield general.

3 goals in the last 5 matches of last season, 2 in pre-season and 1 in the first 3 of this?....I'm skeptical it's even Anderson.
