Can't help feeling he will look back on his life and hear the words of the great Jim Bowen resonating around his tiny mind - 'look at what you could have won'!!
And that is the most perfectly worded way Ive heard it put yet. Does that mean he will end up married to a dungaree wearing lesbian who is only allowed out on day release to play darts?

My only hope from this is that he doesn't go on and fulfill his potential at city/chelsea/liverpool. I mean, that would seriously be a big slap on our faces. But I trust Fergie's judgement and am confident we took the right decision on him on the basis of Fergie's impeccable track record in judging whether young players have the necessary qualities.
How many players actually have done this? I can't think of any - doesn't mean that they don't exist. Seriously, is there anybody who left United as a prospect and made it big? Rossi maybe, but then, we got good money for him.

Beardsley. Could have had him for £300,000 but let him go after one appearance.

Well that's expected as you're an Arsenal fan.
Ha ha ha, that KM and his Arsenal jokes get me everytime ha ha ha.

Seriously, you must be the most unfunny cnut in real life trotting out the same old jokes.

I can't understand football fans wishing Morrison succeeds in football at another club. Personally, I just hope he turns out to be a decent human being.
Shame on them for wishing an 18 year old good luck. Shit happens and we'll carry on being successful, so it would be a shame if Ravel wasted his talent. I genuinely wish him the best.

one thing pique, rossi, platt had when they left was their head screwed on right, they moved for first team football (esp pique/rossi) as they had exceptional players ahead of them, (rooney, RVN, Vidic,Rio), morrisson should have seen the gap in our midfield and taken his chance when it came, instead he chose to hang around on his bike around Old trafford, shrewsbury street (just outside where the guy got stabbed last year - flower shop), come late for training, piss about on twitter, if anything this kid is as thick as F***,

Genuinely couldn't care less. I desperately want a talented, young midfielder at the club with all the potential to become world class, but don't want it to be him. Kids a thug.

Pique.

Still annoyed about that one.
As good as he's become for Barca I still don't think he'd have made it at United. I just don't see him being suited to this league.

The only annoying thing was how cheap we let him go for.

In most cases when we lose a player with Ravel's talent, I'd be unhappy and question as to why we're letting such a player slip through our fingers, but I don't feel like that with this one. I'm actually quite happy that we have gotten rid of him now. For all his evident talent, he's a bad apple who's attitude could be poisonous to the rest of the dressing room if he broke into the first team. We don't want that here.

I also feel that his chances of making it are quite slim, in all honesty. Despite his talent, his attitude and behaviour will let him down big time. Let's be clear on this one. He's not just a kid who's in a little bit of trouble, and will eventually mature. He's someone who, as far as I've heard, has been involved in some serious stuff. Wasn't he up for witness intimidation? That's very serious, and not just your average teenager in trouble.

^^ exactly. Doesn't matter if you have all the talent in the world. Without the application you'll never make it.

Pathetic post...

Shouldn't be judgmental to someone you know nothing about.

Ricardo Quaresma.
His circumstances were a bit different I think, but when you talk about players who had ridiculous ability, and didn't fulfill it, he's one of the first players who would come to mind.

Wow, gut wrenchingly hideous reading how ridiculously high he's rated and to think he'll fulfill it somewhere else. It's like being dumped and spending all your time worrying she'll give some other mug her best years...
And at a much lower level than he potentially could or should be at. To be fair if the .rumours are true about him missing training and defying authority then he will struggle. If anything I would think that west ham are more likely to put up with his antics than we were which isn't the best thing for either party.

Not going to say that Morrison is a delightful chap and a great human being and all, but judging by tweets today (Tunnicliffe's above and the one from John Cofie, which Fryers retweeted) it seems that the reports of Ravel pissing on his teammates seem way off.

John Cofie @ twitter - also retweeted by Fryers said:
Just hered about @RavelMorrison49 such a shame to loose a player with his talent but wishing him all the very best top boy xx

I don't like to entertain rumours and what not but this whole situation has left me a bit annoyed so I'm going to entertain some rumours. The word seems to be he picked up a knock after the Palace game but then went AWOL for 5 days and didn't turn up to training. I think the club was sick of the whole one step forward, 2 steps back with Ravel. He seems to have fallen out with Warren Joyce as well, this added to his off the pitch misdemeanours more likely than not sealed his exit.

Get a room lads :boring:

In regards to Morrison, Sir Alex usually knows best. I just hope it doesn't come back to bite us in the arse.

Not being on speaking terms with his manager (Warren Joyce ) is enough evidence for me.....

If this is true, then I can't blame us for getting rid of him at all. People who say that we are a better club than ones who constantly bow down to the demands of unhappy players would have to also agree that we're doing the right thing here.

Can't see it, especially as no Premier team came in for him which seems to suggest they don't think so either..! As Gordon McQueen said "It's all downhill after United"..!

Gerard disagrees!

And at least a couple of premiership clubs came in for him according to reports.

Pique and Rossi showed some semblance of professionalism whilst they were here though, it would fecking hurt if Ravel fulfilled his potential though.

I think Evans is better than Pique. I don't really rate Pique, he just plays for 2 fantastic sides. I still don't see him making it in the Prem.
Sounds like a bit of an idiot this Morrison but I'll reserve judgement until we hear what actually happened.

I think it's worth mentioning that even if Morrison does go on to become a top player it doesn't necessarily make letting him go a mistake. Fergie has a responsibility to look at the bigger picture and if, for example, he feels keeping Morrison could prove to be detrimental to the development of other young players in terms of setting the wrong expectations on behaviour, then taking the hit now could well be for the better of the squad in the long run.
