Spoiler Rules

- Spoiler tags do not need to be used if the episode has been shows on television anywhere in the world. If you haven't watched the latest episode keep out of the thread. There are lots of places to check the broadcast dates of programs are e.g. TV.com and Wikipedia.

- Any and all comment related to future developments must be placed in spoiler tags even if the information comes from an official interview or a "next week on ..." clip at the end of an episode.

- ALL spoilers must have a brief explanation of their source and content in bold. No exceptions.

- Any and all information from the original source material e.g. book or graphic novel must be in a separate thread. This sort of material must never be posted in a thread about the TV version, even if spoilered, and failure to comply will result in an infraction.

- Future developments are defined as anything that hasn't been shown in an episode on TV somewhere in the world.

- "Next week on ..." clips aren't considered to be part of an episode.
Air date:
US: April 1st
UK: April 2nd - Sky Atlantic

Probably best that they stick to Game of Thrones as the name of the show really.

Good preview that, looks like it'll be as violent and racey as ever for a HBO show.

Can't freakin' wait.

I really hope they can pull off the CGI on the dragons.

Ah my mistake. I thought they called Season 1 "A Clash of Kings" and Season 2 was going with another name.
Slightly confused there buddy.

Game of Thrones is the name of the first book, and Clash of Kings is the name of the second.

Yea I guess I never really looked into too much, thought instead of ASoIaF they went with "Game of Thrones"(the name of the first book) and named the first Season "Clash of Kings" (name of the second book). Just incorrect all around on my part

Nice tagline btw :D

I don't think I've ever looked forward to a tv series this much. Oddly, I'm more excited
about the next season than I am about the release of the next book, although that's probably due to a lack of date on the latter (let's hope the fat old man finishes them!!)

Agreed, Robert Jordan was so close in regards to your last point! Haven't read the last one his son did although it got favorable reviews

Yeah I think they're going to have split seasons later on for some of the books because of sheer length, so I don't know if titling is going to coincide.

Brandon Sanderson finished the WoT books and he is not even closely related to Jordan.

I'm not doing so well in this thread...really thought they got his son to finish the series up but must be another series(probably not the way I'm going)...for WoT I couldn't get past Winters heart as the series slowed down.
Happens to everyone mate. ;) And yeah, I haven't read any of the Sanderson novels yet. Waiting for it to finish this March and pick up all three together.

I hope so. Book 3 should definitely be split into 2 series. It's massive. The more the better I say.

it'll be weird as the later books focus only on half the characters.

Still gutted I didn't get an extra part in this, bastards.

One month from today.

Just watched first season.

Good series, slightly more needs to happen to make it perfect (battles largely get skipped over.)

Whomever cast that kid as Joffrey deserves an award. Such a loathsome little scrote.
I think they've got pretty much all of the casting spot on. Joffrey, like you say, but also Varys, Littlefinger, Tyrion, Ned, and Tywin in particular. I don't think there's any casting decision that I disagree with, really.

And I'm all out of bubblegum.
Arya is perhaps the best of the lot. Maisie Williams has a grand future ahead of her. Other than her, Tywin stands out too.

In general, great casting.

Only Sean Bean because we don't get to see enough of him.

To be honest, I do not share the same love for Tyrion as countless others do. My favourite character is probably Arya and then Daeneryrs.

Arya is my favourite character as well followed by Jon and Tyrion. Joffrey is played brilliantly, I truly despise the little twat.

Whoever in HBO is in charge of the marketing this year deserves a pat on the back. This last trailer is so perfect. I honestly think they're going to get record numbers for this season. The hype is of the charts.
