Ok, cool, this is a good idea.
I'll try and reprise stuff I've already said and that is in running so to speak.
United are not signing gaitan or strootman.
It seems obvious now but wasn't when I first mentioned it: vertonghen to arse, and probably m'vila but his agent has spoken to inter.
I was told about our interest in kagawa about six weeks ago but as far as my mate knows nothing has progressed dramatically since then. His agent spent last week in Italy talking to Milan and juve.
Obviously we and city want hazard. Mate says he's told united that they are his preferred option but is also gobbing off to anyone that will listen in France about the money that city have offered. Nasri said he preferred us last summer then cocked off having agreed terms.
City have met with rvp's agent and have at least been told that he'd consider a move there.
As of last week fletcher has no plans to retire.
Can't remember what else. I'll get back on stuff!

I wonder why aren't we interested in or linked to Gokhan Inler. A classy central midfielder at the right age with 2 good feet. good passing and an eye for goal. Everytime i have watch Udinese and Napoli i've been very impressed with him

Yep I really do. Was brilliant for Napoli in those two games against Chelsea. Seems to have a bit of steel/midfield destroyer about him as well. Exactly what we're after.
People who may genuinely have inside knowledge on things tend to keep it to themselves, otherwise they don't have access to that knowledge for very long. What Pogue said. I can't see the harm in having this thread. This is the transfer forum after all and most of it is speculation as it is as nobody but the player, agent involved and the clubs involved know the full story.

It's entirely possible he knows someone at the club. However the chances of that person himself being aware of our transfer dealings is slim. So I agree with you but I doubt RedRichio is making stuff up unlike friendlytramp.

That is entirely accurate though, since it's no secret that United had agreed terms and were close to signing him, until City made a bigger offer that United refused to match. So what you heard "from the horses mouth" was true.

Well firstly, stuff gets out all the time. It's almost inevitable. Ducker in the times said we'd agreed a deal for de gea in January and it was common knowledge that we wanted young a long time before we signed him. Everybody knows who wants hazard. The scouts have all been sitting next to each other at games.
Anyway, modric. Some of this is common knowledge. Chelsea were trying to get modric last summer. I'm not really sure why but Daniel levy hates Chelsea and was super keen not to sell to them. There was obviously a figure at which he'd have to sell. Levy knew that fergie loves modric and went to united and said you can have him for x. United couldn't or wouldn't pay the figure but approached modric's agent to see if it was worth trying to negotiate. Essentially modric said that he only wanted to go to Chelsea so we didn't follow it up. We asked to be kept informed in future. Anyway, spurs have intimated to us that he would be available for the right price this summer and there's a suggestion that the player would be more open to coming to us. However, united are very very wary of getting into negotiations with spurs because levy just never blinks.
I guess it's not really a corker of a story, but I think the jist is that modric is available at the right price and obviously less than last year and that we'd like him but it would be really complicated to pull off.

Agree with this. I don't get "this is happening, it's done" etc. he doesn't give me figures because he doesn't know. All he can do is tell me who's being looked at, whether negotiations are going on etc.
And he doesn't work for a club. It's a consultancy that clubs subcontract to to scout particular players/tournaments etc.
