We going to report every single newspaper that reports about that? Going to be a long thread if so.

A good summary of last few hours 'developments' for anyone who does not want to read our mupperty of the past 10 pages ( Which has been alot of fun!)

Thiago's family sell Barcelona restaurant as Manchester United move creeps closer

Even us cynics at Sport Witness are starting to feel it's a matter of when and not if Thiago finally signs for Manchester United. If the move doesn't happen now, and he'd been stringing the club along to get a new Barcelona deal, then many supporters will be left quite disappointed. We covered news from Catalan newspaper Sport this morning which said that the club were expecting Thiago's agents to be in touch over the next few days to tell them he wanted to leave for Manchester United. Sport also re-ignited the tax threat which sounds incredibly petty and is something so complicated they don't appear to even understand it themselves.

On Twitter it's been said that Sport claimed 'Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara', but this isn't on their website or in their newspaper so we think someone had got a little carried away. Unfortunately it was tweeted by a Sky Sports journalist so is now considered fact.

Then there's the whole kit photo mystery. Barcelona put out a group image of a few players in the new kit which appeared to have cropped Thiago out, but on their website today he is one of the most prominent players advertising it, so that looks like a conspiracy theory.

Here's another, perhaps with more to it. AS claim that Thiago's father Mazinho has sold his restaurant in Barcelona. It was a tapas joint named Campechano and AS reckon that it could have something to do with both his sons leaving the city. Rafinha has extended his Barcelona deal but is likely to be going on loan to Celta Vigo for a year and Thiago is obviously rumoured to be on his way to Manchester.

It's not unlikely that Mazinho would join the elder son to help him settle in a new country and aid his career at Manchester United. He's played for Brazil in a World Cup himself so he knows a bit about the game and has been involved in both his sons' careers, helping them get to the stage they are.

Catalunya Press go further and say that Rafinha's mother could be moving to Vigo to help him settle and that Mazinho wouldn't want to be left on his own in Barcelona and would either go to Manchester or Vigo himself and visit Thiago from there. They call him a 'busybody' presumably referring to his interest in the football career of his sons.

This place won't be able to take the strain during Moyes first conference tomorrow. it'll be like Gareth Bales €40m Inter move a few years ago.

Great, Mr Thiago is bringing a new restaurant to Manchester - now there'll be three of them.

So where Thiago and Rafa working on the restaurant when they weren't training? Tough life, but it's nice to see them interested in the family business.

The red curtain had been in front of the press since they entered the room. Voices whisper and mutter, echoing around the room with wonder. Today is the first day of David Moyes reign as Manchester United manager. It had been 15 minutes since the journalists were allowed in, when suddenly the lights dimmed.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the moment you have all been waiting for..."

Silence.

Celebration by Kool and the Gang starts to play. The curtain lifts. There is a runway.

The music kicks up a notch... the announcers voice comes back on.

"Introducing, our first new signing. All the way from Barcelona. THIIIAAAAAAGOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Boom! Confetti bursts from the runway, Thiago comes out. He's on rollerskates wearing Man Utd speedos. He screeches to a stop at the end of the platform and does a wink and point. He skates back to the side of the runway and dances on the spot.

"Coming up next, signing number two.... KEVIN STROOOOOOOOOTMAAAAAN"

Confetti launches from the stage again, but Strootman is nowhere to be seen. The reporters gasp as they notice him ziplining from the rafters to the stage. Also sporting Man Utd speedos, he lands like a graceful swan, turns around and belts out a rendition of Oh Robin Van Persie.

The music is still blaring. "CEEEELEEBRAAATE GOOD TIMES, COME ON!". At this point the press are swaying side to side and clapping.

"Time for signing number three. We have no need for him but we signed him anyway. IT'S GARRRAAAAAYYYYYYYY!".

More confetti. Garay, donning United speedos, backflips down the stage. It's the greatest thing some of these reporters have ever seen. He flexes at the mic and then joins Thiago and Strootman in dancing at the side of the stage. They form a guard of honor.

"Time for the piece de resistance, people. Meet the man who made this all possible. DAVVVIIIIIDDDD.....MOOOOOYYYYEEEESSSS!!"

fecktonnes of confetti rain down. Moyes is in a bitching suit. He struts down the runway like a don, reaches the mic and signals for the music to stop. Suddenly everyone notices the human shaped object right by the mic that has been there the whole time. It is draped in a red sheet.

Silence. Moyes stares at the press. One journalist cannot take his death stare and runs out of the room crying.

Moyes grabs the sheet, and pulls.

It's Cristiano Ronaldo.

BOOM. the music kicks back on. Confetti is absolutely everywhere. Moyes rips off his entire suit in one move to reveal United speedos. He's also wearing rollerskates, nobody noticed this. Ronaldo, also in United speedos, starts dancing. Moyes does the best move everyone has ever seen. He is joined by all his new signings as they strut around the stage.

"CEEEELLLLEEBRRAAATTE GOOOOOD TIIIMES, COME ON!"
I'm still quietly hoping that this is what happens tomorrow.

Don't they have computers at work? What about smartphones?

What kind of mupperty is that? Part Time Muppets! And we don't like part-timers in the muppet thread :p

Apparently Mazinho has sold his restaurant in Barcelona, which maybe suggests he wants to support Thiago in his move abroad. Also, Thiago has been cropped out of one of Barcelona's shirt-promoting photos on instagram, although I read somewhere that that might just be to do with the site's image requirements. Yes, I am.

Some folk were pissed off over Pogba. So imagine the uproar if it were someone of Thiago's stature. (though the slight difference being Barca's midfield is still pretty damn quality and ours wasn't anywhere near).
Folk were pissed off alright - pissed off at Pogba!

Pogba was 18 when he left - he'd barely kicked a ball for us. Was offered a decent contract but turned it down. Juve came in & offered him more. We dont offer massive contracts to kids who havent even kicked a friggin ball for the 1st team - the same as most clubs do aswell.

Isnt that the problem with young footballers now - bunch of spoiled brats thinkin they've made it before they've even played a handful of games for their club? Look at Cleverely & Welbeck goin on loan for about 2-3 seasons each & then gettin rewarded when they came back. If reports are true - Pogba wanted the same money they were rewarded with when they returned - Pogba had only played 3 games of first-team football ffs!

United were absolutely spot on regarding his salary. Maybe Fergie could have played him more of course, but as Fergie always said - choose when to put a young player in the 1st team or risk shattering his confidence if he has a stinker - slowly but surely!

He wanted our young players to be grounded - not twats like Pogba & Morrison who wanted it all now before they've done anything to earn it. Welbeck & Cleverely are great lads & have worked their asses off & you never hear them complain about anything - thats the type of young player we try to develop at United, we dont need the Pogba-mentality at the club.

Do we not have rules for even the cars that young players drive also? No flash motors etc.. I love that!!

They are including a link to an article of the Daily Star that is a good ten days old. DAFAQ?

Oh shite, yeah didn't notice that! So that rules out this as being a waste of space.

The more interesting part is ESPN saying sources from United suggest a deal is near, but we can all guess at that. If there was this much smoke without a fire the world would be about to self com-bust!

Such a sensational way for Moyes to kick off his career by signing one of the continent's best prospects.

I can't get my head around United being involved in a deal for a Spanish midfielder, from Barcelona for less than £20m.

Not particularly bothered about Instagram pictures or dad's selling restaurants, just waiting on that "agreed to join subject to a medical". That is the original 'cocks out' inspiration.
