Pereiras goal was from a free kick. Hes running the show again tonight apparently. His former team mate at PSV and with Belgium Zakaria Bakkali is playing for PSV first team in Europe tonight.

Manchester United's youngsters took a huge stride towards a Milk Cup semi-final berth with a 2-0 win over Californian side South Coast Strikers FC.
The Americans were full of confidence having thumped Tus Altenberge 6-0 in their opening game and, for 20 minutes, they matched the Reds in front of an appreciative crowd at the Showgrounds in Coleraine. But the game turned on two pieces of magic by Andreas Pereira, first his through ball allowed Joe Riley a clear run on goal and he rounded the keeper before rolling into an empty net.
Then, in the second half, the Belgian curled home a wonderful free-kick from wide on the left touchline to double the lead.
United were good value for the win and could have added more goals with a fluent second-half display. Ruairi Croskery smashed a drive against a post and Demetri Mitchell was unlucky to see his lob drop wide. The Reds are back in action on Wednesday night against Tus Altenberge in the final group game.

It continues to amaze how far ahead of his age group Pereira is. That he is still allowed to play here but has also featured a few times for the U21s is amazing. That said, you can see how easy this level is for him.

By all accounts hes been excellent in the two games. Seems to be highly rated by the club as he played a few of the academy friendlies last year and was involved in training camps

Thats McBurnie from Bradford he looks to have quite an awkward running style but looks to be very effective, hes done well in both games and scored in the first game. Tyler seems to have been struggling a lot with injuries for the past year hes the same type of build as Welbeck at a similar age so perhaps hes having similar growing issues

Manchester United's youngsters secured a semi-final berth at the Milk Cup with a 4-1 win over TuS Altenberge in rain-soaked Limavady.
The Germans sat rock bottom of the group before kick-off but resisted United for half an hour until Ruairi Croskey's cool finish put the Reds ahead. Oliver McBurney doubled the lead, stroking home left-footed after cutting inside his marker.
The Reds then conceded their first goal of the tournament in bizarre fashion, a long ball forward looked to be running through to Kieran O'Hara, only for the goalkeeper to unluckily lose his footing on the sodden turf and allow Steffan Hunker a tap-in.
United responded almost immediately, Andreas Pereira firing home from 20 yards to quash any hopes of a comeback. The Belgian struck again to give the hardy fans something to cheer, this time finding the net from nearly 30 yards out as he continues to stamp his class on the competition.
Paul McGuinness' side will face Dublin side Cherry Orchard in the last four of the competition on Thursday.

It's really impressive that we haven't conceded apart from that one freak goal so far.
I'm glad we're playing Pereira in the tournament. Obviously he's a bit above this level now, but it's nice to let him enjoy his ability at times as well as challenging him with inclusion at a higher level (such as his U21s run-outs). And obviously the more football, at any level, the better.

Paul McGuinness has spoken about Pereira doing well as a leader as well which is really good to see as I thought at times last year he seemed to be playing within himself and we'll need him to be a leader if were going to do well in the youth cup and the way hes playing in the tournament should be a good boost to his confidence going into the season.

I hadn't thought of that but it's an excellent point. Particularly if we think about that wonderful period at the start of last season in the U18s when he, Daehli and Pearson were all flying, and demolishing opponents regularly. Whereas Daehli and Pearson were the heartbeat of that team, there was sometimes a feeling as if Pereira was the 'hired talent'. He was excellent, but he didn't necessarily make himself an integral part of the game. The phrase is often used emptily but like you say, the best way to describe it is that he was 'playing within himself'.
And he certainly has the potential to be more of a game-runner. For such a tricksy flair player he has a very well-rounded game. Good passer and a really excellent tackler. His tackles are one of the strongest parts of his game. So he could easily become a real 'heart of the side' sort of player.
Still incredible to think how young he is. In most clubs he could already be starting for the first team, at just 17 years of age.
