I highly doubt that. He actually said he was happy with his finish, and I believe him. Al called it right a while ago; he has neither the bottle nor desire to win a major. Keep plodding away with those top 10 finishes. He's good value in majors cos he won't win one, but is price makes each way betting good. I won on him at the Open.
do you know him personally or something?

You don't need to know Westwood personally to know he's not a winner. He's overweight and refused to move to America for the peak years of his career. The guy's not that bothered. He might win one major if everything falls into place.

feck's sake. Thought it was Thursday so placed my bets last night.

Anyway, knocked Kuchar on the head; don't think he's long enough for the course, so gone for D Johnson instead, with Westwood, Snedeker and Day.

Surely if it's online bets you can cancel them up to the start of the event?

Day's the ultimate each way bet.

I've gone with Matsuyama each way. Sixth at the Open, tenth at the US Open.

Gone with Els to win the thing. Just a feeling.

Anyone tuned in yet today? Woods with an early start.. 2 under after 6. Seems like there are some low scores to be had out there with lots of players under par already.

Pissed off I can't get any coverage at work.. having to keep up to speed on the BBC and twitter feeds which are a bit of a joke at the moment. The BBC one is fine during the other majors but it seems they switch off a bit for the PGA.

It is. You might be able to get some coverage from the PGA website but it'll probably be Americans only. Coverage has been limited anyway. Get yourself on a stream.

Feeling a bit sick at the moment. Fortunately Snedeker, Westwood and Day have all got off to good starts, but Dustin Johnson, who I put it in last minute is +2. Matt Kuchar, who he replaced, is two shots off the lead at T3. Long way to go though.

Good start for Rory. Went -3 after 5 but then got a great bogey on the 6th after going in the water.

This is shaping up well so far. I've backed McDowell, Blixt, Snedeker, Bjorn and Matsuyama, all €1 each way.

Sky is shite. Constant video packages when they could just be showing the thing live.

I'm watching it online. Switching between Sky and the US coverage when any advertisements/video packages/Monty come on.

Jimenez in on fire, again.

Why aren't Sky showing this in the afternoons?

Rory is off at 1.30 tomorrow and I'd love to watch him but they don't come on 'til six. That's just throwing away viewers you'd easily get.

I'm guessing it's the same deal as the Masters, where even the Americans are contractually obliged to not show anything til a certain time.

He might be in one of the featured groups though, and you can see them on the red button.

No. Coverage does not start until 1:00 pm eastern time (also the event time zone).
It's absolutely ridiculous that all of it is not live.

Sky were showing some awful shite yesterday when this could of been on. I think they were showing ten year old cricket.

It's getting worse lads. Westwood threw his round away, Day fell away, Snedeker might not make the cut, same with Johnson, whilst Matt fecking Kuchar is absolutely flying.

Golf is still lacking in common sense when it comes to television. The Masters is particularly bad. It's like they don't want people to watch it. It's frustrating because it's actually a great television sport.

In terms of the competition, the course is playing too easy. Shooting 63 on a course with 2 par 5s is too easy for a major championship. The US Open at Merrion had it right. Give these guys a test - don't let them play target golf.

Justin Rose just the +7 for the round, there.

I would think Adam Scott will win this one. Dufner has too many putting problems, whilst Furyk won't have it in him to finish.

If McIlroy gets out tomorrow and hits 65, he could well be the winner too.

I've enjoyed this major so far. It's been a lot better to watch than the other 3 majors this year. It's refreshing to watch a few birdies & eagles rather than watching the entire field struggling to score par.
Woods seems to be struggling at the majors because his long game is too wayward for these type of setups and his short game is not a consistent as it once was. In contrast to the normal PGA tour even Tiger Woods can't play out of the type of rough you find at the major tournaments. His best bet to win another major will be at Augusta because there's less rough and wider fairways.
I fancy Stenson for the win, he's been there or there about in the last 3 majors and played well last week. Wouldn't rule out McIlroy either, he'll be feeling the best he's felt all year after yesterday's round. If he gets his mojo going he could easily score in the low 60's on this course. He's still the most talented player in the field despite his struggles.

What a strange tournament. If you'd have told me yesterday that McIlroy would be in with a shout, and Westwood would be above Kuchar I'd have said you were mad.

Caught up with last night's play this afternoon. A touch more accuracy with the putter and Westwood would be on the first page. Apply that to Scott and he'd probably have the trophy. So many dropped shots which for me meant this major became fairly routine to really gripping. Seeing that first page get bogey after bogey whilst Westwood was making steady progress was very enjoyable. Not to mention Dustin Johnson's played himself right back in it was a -5 round. None of mine should win but two (maybe even three with Day) have a chance of top 6.

My dad said it'd take a miracle round from Westwood. In reality, it just took a disaster round from most of those above it. Can't call it at the moment, but if I had to pick one I'd be tempted to go with Furyk. If his bottle holds out (and it has done before), he's in the best position. For Scott to win it, he needs Furyk and Dufner to have disaster rounds and he'll be lucky to finish -2 for the day. I don't think the scoring's out there for someone to burst through the pack. Westwood and McIlroy are far too far behind.

There's a 65 in the course, so hopefully it'll be McIlroy. Westwood is already +3 for the day. Can't say I'm surprised.

I may be speaking too soon, but Furyk and Dufner look well set to bottle this.

Such a rookie error. On that hole you just have to accept a par and not put back spin on the ball. Pitch it on, let it roll up. Rose did the identical thing yesterday. He'll be lucky to make triple now.
