I was about to say that the writers would have to step up to pull that off, but then I remembered the past few seasons and the fact that they clearly don't give a feck.

It's going to be a terrible last season unless the show actually starts being funny again.

I never thought Robin would be the mother, but I have this sneaky feeling her and Ted will end up together at the end of it all. They've played the "will they, won't they" card way too much for it not to happen I feel. Plus I don't feel Robin and Barney work well together, it's an extremely odd pairing.

If you were to draw a line graph charting my enjoyment of this show, it would run directly against whenever Robin and Barney are together as a couple.

Robin shouting at Patrice might have possibly been funny the first time (it wasn't) but then it got old very funny.

It's a good job Cobie Smulders is attractive, as her character is easily the worst on the show... yes, even worse then Ted.

Marshall and Lily are the worst without doubt. I am hoping they both die on their way to Italy but little Marvin escapes and is adopted by Barney and Robin who can't have kids.

They definitely have lost their sense of meaning for the show. But I feel married couples in these sorts of shows do quite a lot anyway. There's not much else they can do to make their marriage exciting.

Looking through, none of the characters are anything special any more. I'd be tempted to say none of them are good.

Robin shouting at Patrice was probably the worst thing I've ever seen on HIMYM, it was frighteningly cringeworthy. And I wouldn't even say Robin is that fit any more. Between Season 2 and 5 she really was. Downhill since. Lily too. Same years she was really fit.

Marshall isn't that funny either and Barney's totally changed.

Well I reckon they should by and large cut out the forced comedy from next season and concentrate more on the actual storyline. A lot of the stuff just isn't funny anymore and it's not that surprising considering all characters have grown over the last 8 seasons.

Seeing as how they're starting the next season with Ted still having a thing for Robin, something pretty big will have to happen between him and the Mother so that he falls in love with her. I mean he's been on Robin for 8 seasons and then over a weekend he will meet the person he marries who he'll fall in love with more than Robin?

It'sssss back. Looks like Marshall won't be in it much bar doing a planes trains and automobiles style journey with a rather large ostentatious black woman. The first episode has really set it up to be a tense ending

Decent start, if you ignore the fact that it's supposed to be a comedy. A few funny moments, but overall quite poor on the comedy-front. I'm not sure why the writers still think that screaming makes any scene fun when it's actually the exact opposite - or is it something Americans enjoy?

I enjoyed those episodes. I liked the revelation about Ted and Robin in the first episode.

It's going to be a weird season. It's going to be ~20 episodes set in the hotel at the wedding isn't it? Wonder when Marshall will get back. I quite like the new format, even if it is a bit bold. The mother's also got fitter with her personality being shown. Pleased with the start.
