If he is motivated he is still class. He was actually good for Fulham last year. He really wants to stay in England by the sounds of it.

I bet he wishes he took that Fiorentina offer now.

Looks like the moody Bulgarian wants out:

Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov hopes to leave the club in January, according to his agent Emil Dantchev.
The 32-year-old has scored just twice in 12 appearances for the Cottagers this season, a barren run that contributed to the struggles that cost Martin Jol his job.
Rene Meulensteen has taken over the managerial reins at Craven Cottage but he will have been rocked by the news that Berbatov, whose contract expires in the summer, is looking for a way out.

"I don't usually speculate as nobody knows what will happen in January but what I can tell you is he (Berbatov) is not happy at Fulham," said Dantchev.

"He would like, if possible, to find another option."
Turkish club Trabzonsport have been linked with Berbatov, but Dantchev suggested that his client would prefer to remain in the Premier League.
"I cannot comment (on whether there has been any approach) but the priority is to find a solution to stay in England," he said.
Fulham refused to comment on the situation.

A return to Spurs?

 Is this guy taking the piss? I don't usually speculate?

I don't want this silly twat anywhere near my club again.

I can't help but say how the hell did the ball manage to completely cross the field, then Berba takes two touches before a Villa player is within 10 yards of him?

Regardless, got to love those little sublime touches.

I couldnt think of a player that would be any worse than Berbatov to help Utd in their current form. He is a lazy waster who ruined his chance at the club

absolutely. We need players with creativity who are technically capable of making something happen in tight spaces. Players like Scholes, berba, Kagawa, nani, januzaj etc.

at the moment we cant break down teams who defend well and we can't keep the ball. You cant get the ball off a player like Berbatov, and he has the intelligence and control to break through a tight defence.

There is a difference between Berbatov and all those other players. The others actually make an effort.

Its why I feel sorry for Kagawa. It hasnt happened for him yet, but he looks like he cares and certainly seems to try. Cant ask for much more than that.

Its been a while, but I still can never get my head around the love in, some Utd fans had with this lump of turd

i see him as being one of the best players technically to ever play the game. I enjoy greatly the fact that that upsets you.

It's how he does it so nonchalantly that gets me. Could have smoked a cigar at the same time.

randall, people watch football for different reasons. Some for the victories, some to watch the players 'play for the shirt', some for the rivalries, and personally i watch it for the beauty and artistry that you sometimes get (from players like giggs, Scholes & berba)...

none of those is the right reason to watch, but try to understand that we all take different things from the game.

We should never have signed him really, just wasn't suited to our style of play.

That said he's still one of my favourite players to watch. When he's on his game he's sublime. Can anyone post the WHU gif:drool:

The touch against Blackpool, when we won away with him & Hernandez scoring. The ball is played long & head height from Scholes left wing, intended for Valencia at the far corner on the right, & Berba is on the edge of the box. With his body completely straight as if he was waiting for a bus, his right leg goes up, completely perpendicular to the floor, & brings the ball down in one graceful motion. The centreback 10 yards in front of him proceeds to have a heart attack.

That's a strange one.But a good move personally for Berbatov if true.

Apparently we're in for him for 2m. I think he could be good for us.
If I'm not mistaken, he outscored Giroud last season, despite playing in a far inferior team and half of the time not even as a striker. Would be a good short term solution, technically wise he's on another level to Giroud.

I don't think he is what Arsenal need, even though he will fit in well there.
Would only be a stop-gap, I imagine. Can't see him being worse than Giroud and Bendtner really, and for 2m there's very little risk involved.

If they want to win the title, they should be going for someone better. Someone who is more likely to convert the chances rather than create them,

We don't need a chance converter(although it'd be nice) but someone to win a header and to link up play.

That player doesn't have to be top class - Bendtner came on yesterday and changed the game just by winning the odd flick on and allowing us to push up the pitch. No surprise we ended up winning.

The issue is that we clearly need a player in there but at the same time, we don't want to pay big bucks for someone who we don't really fancy when we could just buy in the summer.

Just get Berbatov. He'd be useful as a 3rd choice next season.
