Laziness, maybe?

Agree with a lot of what you said about The West Wing by the way, and that episode you're referring to at the end of the season 2 is fantastic, one of my all time favourite TV show episodes. It works particularly well because all the characters are fleshed out and have some very humane interraction between one another. If that's lacking in the Newsroom, I'm not sure I even want to give it a go.

Enjoyed Rick & Morty @R.N7 felt it got better as the episodes went on, they seemed to have found their cruise speed. With just 6 episodes, we already know quite a bit about the two main characters and also the parents, which is cool. Quite funny, not side splitting stuff for 20 minutes but some really good moments. I'll keep following it when it airs again.

But I'm back to square 1, it was too short. What's next?

I know for a fact you'd like Party Down.

I know for a fact you'd fall in love with Lizzy Caplan.

I know for a fact anyone who likes Parks & Rec will like it.

Is Firefly as good as its ratings? I get the impression that it has a lot of nutty sci-fi fans promoting it.

I haven't watched Firefly mostly because of the drones of people who tell me just how amazing it is and how I haven't lived if I haven't watched it.

It's stupid I know.

Yes.

Also, Shameless US is great, so underrated, more should watch it.
I think most get put off by it's carbon copy nature of the original in Season 1.

It's like the pilot episode of the American Office except that it lasts a lot longer. I agree though, it's good - almost finished season 2 I think..

Lip walked out in the last episode after quitting school

Australian (original) version of Rake is brilliant. Richard Roxborough is superb in the title role.

The first Aussie TV show I've watched in many many years.

House of Cards
The Wire
Game of Thrones
Dexter (first 4 seasons)
Breaking Bad
Rake (Australia)
Walking Dead (if you like Zombie silliness)
True Detectives
True Blood (first few seasons)
Lost (despite later seasons jumping the shark a bit but still fun)
X Files - brilliant TV almost to the end
Californication - an adult comedy/drama with ever decreasing returns after season 1 but watch until you get bored.

Is House Of Cards good? I just started watching it (2 eps in) and so far am finding it quite enjoyable. Does it get better/worse or stays the same? I would look into the House Of Cards thread but dont want any spoilers...

Has anybody been following Black Sails? I've seen the first two episodes but it bored me after that.
Yeh!

Man, keep watching. I saw the first 20 minutes of the first episode and thought it was shit, quit watching for 2 weeks (probably because i watched it without subtitles and couldn't understand properly wtf they were talking). Now im up to date and the show has really picked up.

What Nilsson said. There's one episode in the middle of season 1 that I thought was subpar, if not it's very consistent and you're really absorbed by it. Really good show, haven't seen season 2 yet.

The military school one?
That's the one. I thought the stuff happening to Frank in that episode was a bit weird, felt a little 'off' compared to all the stuff around it, and the side stories were a bit boring iirc (Russo going back to his hometown I think?). I didn't find it 'shit', but I thought it didn't fit in that well with the rest of the season.

Strange, as I thought it was one of the most memorable.

Kinda because it gave some more warmth to the characters I guess.

I can totally understand that, to be honest I guess it could go either way. Can't disagree with what you say, my impression is probably that it was an episode not based on the main plot, for the most part, and therefore as I was engrossed in the show by that time, there was maybe a part of frustration given that the plot didn't really advance. As I said, I didn't find it shit by any stretch of the imagination anyway.

Sean Locke's sitcom "15 Storeys High." Written by Locke, Mark Lamarr & the boss from Phone Shop. It's a brilliant, understated, underappreciated off beat little show. Probably the best thing BBCThree ever did.
