That wasn't a second yellow for Gerrard. Why is it that people have this weird thing whereby if a player on a yellow commits a regular foul, it should suddenly mean the foul is viewed differently. On no earth is that ever a yellow card offence. It was the same with Rafael last week. Every foul was apparently a yellow, according to some.
God you know its a bad season when Chelsea and City winning are good things as the thought of Liverpool winning the league is so horrifying

I still don't understand why he/Gibbs was sent off. The ball was going wide so he wasn't blocking a goal-scoring an opportunity.
Then again, I can explain why. The ref didn't see it and neither did the linesman. So they guessed. They got one decision right - it was a penalty, but it wasn't a red and they got the wrong player. Wonder why that is? Because the ref didn't see it.

In fairness, it wasn't massively off target and they probably didn't have the same angles we did, or the time to judge it, so I can understand why they thought it might have been on target. Not sure about the rule, though. A few people on Twitter seem to be saying there is a rule that justifies it. Anyone know?

You do understand, the referee guessed. It was an understandable assumption to make and the issue was more with Arsenal's hopeless defending than the referee. He shouldn't have been guessing but he didn't have the chance to see it again like we do, it was only just going wide and the question is why the hell were Arsenal giving away a penalty and already 2 down after 15 minutes?
