Arsenal are reported to have sealed the arrival of striker Josip Drmic from Nuremberg, according to Sky Germany.

The news was broken by Lothar Matthaus and relayed on Twitter by colleague and former Swindon and Middlesbrough forward Jan Aage Fjortoft.

21-year-old Drmic has been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent days, following his 15 goals in 26 appearances for the Bundesliga side this term.

Should reports prove accurate, the youngster would be a typical Arsene Wenger signing, hungry to impress in the Premier League.

Jan Aage Fjortoft wrote on Twitter: ‘My Sky colleague Lothar Matthäus just said on Sky: -Drmic’s wife has been looking for an appartment in London. Drmic will be Arsenal-player.

‘Josip Drmic is the Swiss-striker at Nurnberg. 15 goals so far. 47% of all Nürnberg goals. Matthäus: – Will be Arsenal-player.’

Any of our resident Germans got any opinions on this?

 That's mean Grinner. RS created a thread on this guy with a monstrous OP, and you do this.

He's awesome. Don't trust anything that Matthäus says though .

I'm in a cold-induced stupor. I never make ****** Forum threads and my first effort is a fecking wash-out. Pfftt.

However, German newspaper Bild have revealed on Sunday morning that a deal is some way off and that Matthäus’ reasoning for the transfer is deeply flawed.

The former German national team captain claimed that Drmic has already been sold to Arsenal and “his wife is already looking for a place to live in London.”

But, Drmic isn’t married. The Swiss striker told Bild: “Right now I’m single. There is no one in London looking for a home.”

Besides this crucial fact, Bild do make a few assertions suggesting Drmic could be on his way to the Emirates.

The 21-year-old striker has a clause in his contract which means he is available for just five million euros – Nurnberg are desperately trying to improve his current deal which runs until the end of the 2016/2017 season.

Bild suggest that Nurnberg stand to lose about 20 million euros if Arsenal invoke Drmic’s current release clause.

In addition, Drmic is quoted saying “it would be every boy’s dream” to join Arsenal.

I think he'll go to Dortmund considering they need a striker next season.

There are rumors going around that Liverpool and Everton are trying to pull an Abramovich on Arsenal over the Drmic deal. Plot twist. Abramovich will swoop in seconds before either one of them can do the deal and pull an Abramovich on all of them. :D
