Wow. So much for Costa not going anywhere. That's feck all for him too.

I'll be happy if he's the only striker they get their hands on.

First season he's managed over 10 league goals.

They've surely got Filipe Luis as well. It was on The Telegraph website a while ago and now seems spot on. Can only see it disrupting Atletico's chance both in Spain and in the Champions League like the news about Gotze before the CL final last year.

Brilliant signing for them and is exactly what they need. However I don't think Mourinho will get the best out of him. The prem is perfect for him, he'll bully alot of defences.

Hope it doesn't unsettle the team ahead of next weekend and the CL final.

Would be fantastic if they did the double.

I may be in the minority here, but I don't rate Costa as being a world class striker. Equally there's something that tells me he's going to flop in England.

I look forward to many elbow/diving/cnut incidents on Motd next season.

I think he's a system player that flatters to decieve.

You're not alone. I'm not convinced by him yet either.

There's something to this I think. Atletico play incredibly well as a team but you'd be pushed to pick out any of their players that are individually on the same level as the whole. (Koke aside, maybe?). How well he'll do under Moureen is up for debate.

Still, 32m is a bargain for him given how well he's played for them.

Agree on both counts. I think a few posters said as much in his thread as well...

Hes nowhere near as talented as some would have you believe.

nah... it's a expected move.

If he where on his way to Real Madrid, then yes....

Good price too! He going to be great for them, just the kind of player Jose likes.

I actually agree - he only managed 34 goals in 109 games in la liga before 27 in 34 this year.

He's a 1 in 3 striker having an outstanding season.

Guy is a complete tool, can't wait for he's antics in the league. He'll properly become the latest edition to the grave yard of strikers that is Chelsea anyway

£32m is a very good price for Costa but there are a number of other strikers I'm happy Chelsea aren't bringing in instead. They could have done better quality-wise, but still a very good bit of business if true.

I have a funny feeling he will flop at Chelsea. Feel free to quote this at the end of the season.

Have to admire Chelsea for just doing the business and not announcing a bid, etc.

Why are Chelsea refusing to give Lukaku a proper go in their first team though? I bet he leaves permanently this summer and becomes the better striker in the coming seasons.

Not a huge Costa fan either but he seems a Mourinho type player and he'll like the physicality Costa brings.

Why does stuff like this get announced with 2 of the biggest weeks in the clubs history coming up? Seems bizarre to me.

I'm guessing he must have a buyout clause for Chelsea to get a striker who has scored as many goals as he has this season for that price in the current market.

^ I don't think Lukaku is that good, personally. He'd make a good second choice striker.

I'll second that.

Cavani, Falcao to name just two.

Pretty naive thing for Athletico to do before the Champions League final isnt it?

He may not quite be world class yet, but he's far, far better than what they've got currently. I think they bring in one more striker as well.

Costa/Lukaku/another new striker isn't too shabby.

Exactly. He's overrated to hell on here anyway. Doesn't strike me as a very good all round player.
