The main 'embarrassment' is the fact he left on a free not long ago and it's clear something went on and he doesn't exactly have the right attitude. The BIG embarrassment is if we were to sign him knowing he will feck off in a couple more years again when he wants more money, or run his contract down and move for big money.
Give him a 6 year contract and regnegotiate it in 3 years - if he doesnt want to do that, sell him then and we will get our money back

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the best selling newspaper of any kind in Italy, on Monday have a report on transfers and what they feel the likelihood is of certain players going to various clubs. Most of the usual suspects are in there and, for example, they believe Javier Hernandez will likely end up at Inter Milan and Luis Nani's most likely next club is Juventus, followed by Galatasaray and Inter Milan again.

Using percentages is something of a crude addition to transfer reporting but it at least paints a picture of who Gazzetta feel will be going where and for Alexis Sanchez the claims are interesting for Manchester United fans. Gazzetta say that Alexis Sanchez has a 60% chance of being a Manchester United player next season and a 40% chance of being at Juventus. The prospect of a stay at Barcelona doesn't even get a percent.

Manchester United are said to be favourites because of one thing... money. Juventus have been trying to do the deal on the cheap and Barcelona want funds for their own transfers. It's explained that Juventus can't go much higher and would also have to wait for the sale of current players, with Fernando Llorente stated as a possibility.

On Friday another Italian newspaper, La Stampa, said that Manchester United had opened talks to buy Sanchez and were ready to bid €25m for the player.
More sanchez

As I said in the Sanchez thread, he prefers Juventus but Barca will sell to the highest bidder, and I'm sure United can outbid Juventus both in terms of transfer money and wages.

Juventus will promise us a cut rate deal on Pogba/Vidal if we leave Sanchez to them, then not sell us Pogba/Vidal anyway. Eddy will fall for it.

Do you think we're interested though? Smacks of Barca attempting an auction.

I had a funny feeling the Vidal and Sanchez rumours were going to be rife with Van Gaal set to come up against Chile in a few weeks.

Wouldn't be surprised if Barca were trying to get a bidding war going. They want to offload a lot of players for as much cash as possible. I'm sure they're disappointed that not many clubs wanted Fabregas. But the reports about Sanchez are coming from Italy from a decent paper. One would think if Barca wanted a bidding war, the stories would originate from the Catalan papers first?

Gazzetta dello Sport have been reporting Paul Pogba to Manchester United for months. We've covered several of their claims but in all honesty it's been a weekly thing and they've linked almost every big European club with money.

In their Monday edition they go over it again, probably with more than a little inspiration from reports in the British media over the weekend. Gazzetta say that Manchester United are ready to offer €70m for the player and that Juventus may struggle to resist the temptation of that amount of money.

Should the bid actually happen but Juventus hold firm then fear not Manchester United fans! Gazzetta explain that Arturo Vidal is the club's fall back option, and they unsurprisingly say Manchester United wouldn't be bidding €70m for him.

It's hard to dig through and work out where everything stands on this. Gazzetta have been reporting a big money Manchester United Pogba move for so long that they've probably covered every figure ending in a zero from €40m to €70m. However, after the reporting in England, which appeared to have come from a leak (funny one of the newspapers had an interview with David Moyes, no?) these Gazzetta claims will be given more weight.
Pogba or vidal :keano:.

Other than his energy/workrate am I the only one who thinks Ramirez is average? Average passer, not the best technique, rash in the tackle.

Surely Pogba at £60m is over priced?

You may well be correct. Im just not sure we see him as a priority. Good player though.
