Adnan Januzaj

They should double it for us to even consider it.

I'm sure Adnan, who has already said he is comfortable in Manchester and looking forward to working with van Gaal, took his time before deciding on his international career and always says that his development as a player is the chief focus in any decision he makes, would be more than happy to sit on the bench behind Ronaldo, Bale and Di Maria.

They have Isco - who at this stage is better than Januzaj - who can't get many games for them. I doubt that Januzaj would be interested on this and surely we won't even consider it. 33m aren't that much if Januzaj becomes the player we hope he'll become.

Some real drivel being touted in the papers this morning, even by their standards.

Isco, Di Maria and Varane then I'd take it. I'd drive Adnan there myself.

Well this again, same happened with Hernandez 2 or 3 years ago - they were linked at £25m and people said he was worth double that. I guess we'd sell him for half the amount now.

Januzaj is good but £33m is a very high price for a 19-year old with just a handful of professional games to his name. We'd at least consider a bid in that region and for £40m we'd sell him in an instant. Not that it's going to happen mind, he hasn't yet reached a level at which Real Madrid would take him off our hands.

Hernandez didn't come through and dominate the U21's though. Nor did he carry our attack for a good two months on his own at 18. The parallels really aren't similar at all.

Januzaj is far better than Hernandez all round as well.

All this talk of "will only sell for 80m/Modric/Di Maria/etc" and nobody has just gone the full way and said "will only sell in exchange for Bale and Ronaldo"?

I have zero belief in our ability to hold on to a player if Barcelona/Madrid REALLY want them. I don't think that it has reached that stage with Januzaj yet so we'll probably be able to hold on to him.

There is absolutely no way on earth we would sell him for £40 million. Januzaj is a sure thing, injury aside. Even then, I still harbour hope that it is up to the manager who we sell and we don't sell. I wouldn't sell him at any price. It isn't my money, it won't concern me, and I'd rather watch Januzaj play for the club than play elsewhere. What, really, does that £40 million, over half of which we won't receive immediately, change for the benefit of the club? It's nothing. I wouldn't sell De Gea at any price either, for example.

We try send them Young in and Januzaj jersey?

But really, Madrid and feck right off!

If they sell the only bright spark of the season I couldn't understand. This guy looks that talented. If we are forced to sell someday, he will bring us £60m+ in 2 years

Bale, Ronaldo, Modric, Di Maria, Varane, £200m, Pepe & Ramos to retire and then we can start negotiations

Anybody else surprised that a Liverpool fan opened a thread about Januzaj in the transfer forum?

Probably about as surprising as United fans jumping on any titbit regarding Suarez's "nailed on" transfer to Real. As I have been informed several thousand times on here, if Real want Real get.

So you're saying there's a bit of an agenda behind you posting this particular piece of gossip? Surely not... :nervous:

Ah so it was a pathetic attempt of tit for tat, couldn't expect anything less from you.

He has caught the attention of the Spaniards though. Marca had a video of him scoring a goal during a training session for Belgium, I don't know how often they put videos of training sessions of teams like Belgium on their website but seemed to me like that it was the beginning of the flirtations. Hope I'm wrong though.

So it's only pathetic when I do it? It's all fair game and reasonable for many members of this website to have an 18 month obsession with Suarez's certain transfer away from Liverpool...but a single thread on a United player and it's pathetic.

Maybe it's just the transfer season and this kind of stuff pops up a bit? If there's no story then fair enough.
