Thought Rooney had a decent game, but I felt there was so much more he could have done. Don't think we're playing to his strengths, to be honest.
One of Rooney's strengths are receiving the ball in the pockets of space and using his great passing range to get it out wide and using his great timing to get on the end of the cross. There's been a countless amount of times Rooney has scored those type of goals for us, yet I felt we played way too narrow.
Personally, I would have told Sterling to keep the width, allowing Rooney more space to work within, as it was too congested in the middle. Yet again, like against Italy, we looked threatening in wide positions, yet we very really got it wide.
