Surely somehow, someway, Fergie is to blame for all this?

Right scousers?

Are all Uruguayans insane by the way? They certainly seem like that when it comes to football. Some of the stuff Poyet and Lugano and others have come out with are mental.
It seems they want to defend him to the very end. Cause of this I want Colombia to completely destroy them.

If he's thrown out of Liverpool for this latest offense, can you imagine the uproar? not over the decision, but the socusers will turn on Suarez too for his stupidity and madness. As long as he's still their player though, they'll defend him to no end.
Au Contraire. Scousers are not defending him at all (not on the forums I am on anyway - RAWK definitely not being one of them). In fact the vast majority are condemning him for his stupidity and the potential repercussions on the club.

Just had a look on RAWK for a laugh.
No thread on this, all talk on Suarez is buried in the World Cup matchday thread. *shakes head*

On topic. It's assault. Plain and simple.

There's no ban, education or help that will change him.

Clearly it was not a conscious decision to bite, I don't believe he planned to dine Italian. However in the heat of the moment, when things are not going his way, he snaps and bites.

And watching the many gifs, it is true that the shoulder hit him first. And at that moment, his brain snapped and he bit. No amount of "education" and "help" will solve this, it's instinctive. Given the right conditions, he'll lose cognitive control and bite again. To me, it's definitely an illness rather than just cheating.

That said, FIFA should throw the books at him. An inability to control himself is not an excuse or defence. Given this is the third bite, I would say 1 year global ban with a suspended life time ban.

And unluckily for Suarez, the WC, with the global audience, is not the time for FIFA to show leniency. They would not want to look weak. I fully expect Suarez to be hit very very hard, perhaps harder than what his crime justifies (even factoring that's his third)
Exactly. If losing your temper was a valid excuse for doing something the world would fall apart.

Chiellini awoke this morning to find he was now a vampire himself. Cruel as hell when an Italian can not use a mirror.

2 year global ban with a lifetime ban if he does it again should be the action from FIFA, he's had too many chances already, he cannot be allowed to keep playing.

Welcome to Manchester reception committee
Incidentally, regarding Barcelona and Real Madrid. The Madrid press said a couple of weeks ago that Real Madrid were out of the chase - too expensive for a player who might not fit in the team as well as Benzema does. Given that Madrid use "marketing appeal" as part of their assessment of transfer value, this has probably ended their interest - unless they've got a toothpaste company as potential sponsors. Benzema is believed to have agreed a new contract this week.

Barcelona were chasing him, from all accounts. Whether this dampens their enthusiasm we will see. Because they are preparing for a possible transfer ban, they may be about the only club who might take a gamble if he gets a club football suspension. Though of course that depends on what effect it would have on Liverpool's price.

I wonder if they are going to complete their investigation before last 16 game. I'd be pissed if he ended up playing, scoring, having an opposition player sent off and knocking Colombia out
I think you can be fairly certain of that, they've given him and/or the Uruguayan FA until 5pm Brasilia time (I think that's 8pm our time?) tonight to answer the charge.

Best part: "Asked about the alleged bite, Suarez told Uruguayan television after the game: "There are things that happen on the pitch and you should not make such a big deal out of them. It was just the two of us inside the area and he bumped into me with his shoulder."

Damn that Chielini he bumped him with the shoulder in the same time Suarez accidentally opened his mouth...
I was wondering why he was grabbing his teeth when he was rolling round on the ground. He was obviously working on his alibi, the fecking weirdo. He's actually going to use the line that he happened to get hit in his open mouth by Chiellini's shoulder.

To paint the picture of what kind of person he is, here's a video with a decent compilation of Suarez' antics

That video exludes these further incidents:

and now this of course:

Ban the fecking idiot for a long time already. He's a diving, cheating, dangerous racist cnut who doesn't deserve all the money and fame he gets for playing football. He's made a carreer out of cheating basically. This just has to end!
Seeing all this together, he's really a mental case.

And to think Liverpool and Uruguay defend this creature.. Its even more crazy.

Yup, I saw on BBC and Skysports facebook pages many of them are condemning him. I was surprised.

thankfully not seen any Liverpool fans defend him yet, Uruguay are pathetic for pretending it didn't happen and their coach saying Suarez was a victim? that's Kenny Dalglish level wankerness!

Yup trully pathetic, I have a few Fbook friends who are Uruguay fans and are celebrating the win and saying they dont care for that incident and whatever. Trully sickening, I will laugh when they'll finally be out of the tournament.

He is still going to join Barca most probably. I don't see Barca fans blaming him much now and risk sounding hypocrites later when they will inevitably have to defend him.
Actually, a hypocrite's agenda is to ignore the facts...like coming to baseless conclusions

Talk is of a 2 year ban, does that mean from representing just Uruguay or Liverpool too. If it includes club football, no club in their right mind will be signing him. I don't even know what goes on his fecking head, it's like a switch just goes off and he loses it. He has a victim mentality, he never points the finger at himself. His wife needs to give him a good talking to again, because he is not getting it through his head. He said in the past his wife has told him he needs to fix up. What an idiot, my girlfriend who watched it was furious, she could not believe it, she says he needs to be made an example of.

He has 2 kids, a true role model for them.
It seems to me he is still a kid in his head, he certainly acts that way.

I heard he could face up to 2 years ban, I'm not sure though.

The most annoying part about his antics is when he deliberately tries to hurt the other player then proceeds to feign injury. Such a despicable human being.

I don't think Barcelona will sign him. He's a disaster waiting to happen. Even if he doesn't get banned for 6 months or a year now he will be when this happens again - and it will.

I hate him so much.

Which brings us back to the argument that just because he's bitten somebody, which is absolutely insane, doesn't mean that it's any less of an offense than if he punched somebody, or anything else along those lines. I'm not sure how you measure how dangerous something is, but biting has to be up there, doesn't it?
I'm only saying, if you ban him, if you throw the book at him then apply those sort of penalties for repeat offenders of dangerous play equally across the board

As an athlete myself, even in a pickup match, I'm more concerned about the nutter trying to take someone's knee out then a bite. Doesn't mean the biter shouldn't be punished but I don't see it as dangerous as someone looking to put someone on the shelf for an extended period of time

so true, in any other job you would be sacked for biting once and find it very very hard to find another job, to do it three times and be a racist? good luck getting a job anywhere after that, yet alone as a football with an huge salary in a top league.

Yup, on that youtube clip up there there are 5 or 6 instances where he fouls a player dirty and then fells on a ground like he was actually hurt..
Despicable, truly despicable human being..

People need to comprehend the difference between kicking/headbutting and actually biting someone. Yes, the former are despicable acts but nothing close to actually biting someone.

if a toddler bit someone then their parents would probably be gravely concerned. We're talking about a 27 year old man who has just done it for the third time.
Injury in sport is far more serious, to me, then a mental patient who looks to wind an opponent up through biting them

Maybe I'm wrong, but in instances where players are put on the shelf for an extended period of time due to a horrendous tackle, they aren't deliberate most of the time. In terms of danger it may be less, but actually biting another human has far more malice to it.

Have you seen any of them bite players on three different occasions?
Anyone who has played football knows there are a lot of things that go on during a match that is neither picked up by refs nor cameras - biting is absolutely mental but I am far more concerned about the players looking to injure you longterm

It's not like Suarez isn't capable of hurting other players, with his mental issues he could poke the eye of another player or break his leg and then pretend it is normal. He has consistently cheated his way through football and FIFA cannot under any circumstances stand for having a player like him ruining their flagship competition.

I don't think you should be, supporters of any flavour are very much alike and in any scenario just imagine switching the colour of the shirt to comprehend how you may feel in the same circumstances. Any reasonable supporter will be more concerned with the impact on their club than defending him. Most believe a ban is not only inevitable but totally deserved .... though of course many of the comments in the Media and by opposition supporters on Sky / FB / Twitter etc are hyperbolic, some in the extreme, and are perpetrated by immature teens or people of low IQ who are more interested in a severe punishment for the man, his club and his country than something that befits the crime itself.

Obvious a lengthy ban wouldn't work. In that case there are several other alternatives to solve suarez's issue:

1. Ban him from football. If due to mental illness, his condition is unfit for playing professional football.

2. Remove Suarez's teeth and replace them with soft plastics ones.

3. Use a "mouth closing device" whenever he is playing football.

I would prefer option 3.

The obsession some people here have with Suarez is unhealthy. Calm down before FIFA disciplinary committee gives their sentence which will not be affected by emotions because it will probably enrage you more.

Obviously I am but that has little relevance to the post. I have simply, and accurately, stated what the FA said in their concluding statement.

As far as this incident goes I have clearly condemned his actions (post #1054 or 1065 or something above) - I suggest you take a look.
What nonsense to say someone who uses racist words directed at someone is not a racist. How else do you then decide who is a racist.

That's like me saying I just shot the gun, but I'm not a murderer.

You Liverpool fans are 100% ridiculous.

It is very rare for footballers to go into tackle deliberately trying to injure another footballer. Pepe has done it, Keane did it out of vengeance, maybe a few other players in the past decade. The vast majority of injury inflicting tackles were accidental.

Suarez is well capable of seriously hurting players around him.

Reckless is reckless, whether it's deliberate or someone who just happens to do it repeatedly yet didn't intend to. Dangerous is dangerous and not everything has the same import. A bite is bizarre but tearing someone's ACL is more dangerous, for me

Suarez is an absolute prick on the pitch, I thought this was well established a long time ago. He will do anything to gain an advantage but how dangerous is he out there? I think a ban should reflect the severity of that danger

I dont get the last part, he deserves a severe punishment and a severe punishment will befit the crime.

What's up, do you have some inside-knowledge about Barca having already signed Suarez and now you are fearing a year long ban? :D

If that's what you are really thinking, violent conduct is no longer even worth a red. You won't injure a footballer by hitting him once or biting him, yes. But that's not the point and I think you know that.

Very dangerous. You let him off with a bite tomorrow he pokes your eye and you lose an eye because 'these things happen'.

How dangerous is he?

This clip will show you nicely how dangerous he is:

not only he tries to injure people, he then acts if he was fouled..
