what a joke! fifa has no balls at all.
he gets punished less that he did before, makes no sense to me.
the fine is nothing for someone getting paid what he does.
i think the only thing that will actually hurt him is the facts he's let uruguay down in this world cup.
i hope some of his team mates have a go at him about this.
although i don't like the guy, i hope nothing bad happens to him if he returns to urugauy now. we all know what happened to that poor columbian goalie all those years ago.
south americans can get really emotional about their national side so there is always a possibility it could get ugly.
if i were him i'd stay away from his homeland.

i heard that the english FA may also be able to punish suarez as well, don't know if thats true or not?
i think he will definitely get sold and never play for liverpool again.
i really hope liverpool fans and the players, old and present, finally have had enough of the guy.
i don't believe the owners of liverpool will want him associated with the club whatsoever. the club has stood by him and now look what has happened.

i'm gonna go look at some liverpool forums now!
Less than before?

Liverpool should fine him the wages he would have earned during the ban. He has let them down badly again but they are too dependant on him to see it.

Yes but surely they'll know that he's going to do it again and then he will get 6+ months - it might be in the middle of the season too.
True. But surely Liverpool also fear this? I just can't see how a club increasingly reliant on the one player can continue to put up with his behaviour and lengthy bans. He could be the difference between them finishing outside the top four, and crashing out of the CL group stages. For me, he has to be sold to the first willing buyer even if they don't get as much as they would have wanted prior to this incident.

He won't be anywhere near match fit after this you'd assume. No football for 4months is a big amount of time. I reckon he'll be struggling til December/New Year to get match fitness back.
To be fair, he was wheeled out off hospital in a wheelchair a few weeks before destroying England.

He's a freak, in more ways than one.

All football related activity is pretty vague unless someone can explain this to me. If he's not allowed to train either, then he will surely miss more matches. Does transfer related activity involving him come under this 'football related activity'? I think it should. Am i asking for too much?:D

With CL commitments this may take it to 30 games he's missed for Liverpool through suspension. Never red carded either, I think for them

He'll return in November and within 4 months will get himself banned again. Referees will have their eyes on them now and even smaller crimes will be met with grand punishments.

Should be 4 months starting from the first league game, makes no sense to be banned over a holiday :S

Tommy Smyth said that if he appeals he can play during the appeal process so he might be able to play Saturday.
I would love for him to appeal so he can play Saturday - as that will only increase the number of games he would miss for Liverpool!

Would be interesting to see how they would react to that!

He certainly deserved a suspension of this lenght although it could've been even longer as far as I'm concerned.

I don't see why he should be banned starting from the beginning of the season.
He's been found guilty, so the punishments starts straight away.

That would almost be punishing Liverpool more than him. When this particular incident isn't to do with Liverpool.

They can't stop him from training on his own.

Not at all I just find it weird that Liverpool can't appeal when they are now involved and affected more than before.
From one perspective, it's harsh on Liverpool but remember the reason they got hold of him in the first place on the cheap was due to the biting incident at Ajax. He then followed that up with a second biting against Chelsea so it's not exactly like they weren't aware he was a ticking time bomb.

The best thing will be Liverpool selling him but at a lesser price so in turns out to be a loss on his current market value.

Will Barca even want him now?

If Liverpool receive an offer for £40m they should take it IMO.
They won't get the £80-100m they were expecting considering he's been publicly shamed by the biggest footballing body in the world

FIFA had to make a statement, especially with all the curruption claims. I wonder what will happen if Suarez will apeal to this decision. Is it even possible for Liverpool to appeal to the suspension, since it happend during an international game? It would'nt surprise me if the suspension will be higher if they appeal. For Suarez all his dreams shattered in just a second lol. Say goodbye to your balon d'or, sponserships, transfer etc.

I would imagine Suarez takes this to the CAS.

Fifa are making their rules up as they go along.
Of course they are, they obviously don't have precedent on someone biting someone for the third fecking time.

I don't know if CAS even have jurisdiction over Fifa.

FIFA have announced ban means Suarez will be locked to gamers on FIFA 15 until October 26th

Suarez is allowed to be on and play Pro Evolution Soccer in the meantime

I feel this is slightly excessive. Happy he has been punished, his bizarre action deserved it, but it seems an arbitrary and longer than required length. It also fails to solve the root of the problem. We should not be surprised if Suárez engages in this behaviour again, because there is a problem with this player who has already proven that banning him does not rectify his mistakes.

Fully expecting Suárez to engage in such behaviour in the next years, it is inevitable, and a true shame to see.
