So this new kit deal then

I don't want us to become a team-buying club like Madrid, with an established world-class player bought in for every position. But this should surely mean that those important, necessary targets (Vidal, anyone?) will become much more achievable.
It will be interesting to see what happens now this is confirmed. Could be an open chequebook for a year or two, or at least until we're competitive.

Jesus 750m is actually the minimum guarantee, that means that figure will probably be increased if certain clauses are met.

Also dual branded merchandising means that we'll probably look for another sponsor(Uniqlo?) for casual wear. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Nike has dropped the ball on this one, with the American market becoming more and more interested in the Premier League. Am I wrong or is City the only team from the top half who'll wear Nike shirt next (15/16) season?
I think it's just City now - am v surprised that Nike decided to walk away from this. But they must have had a figure that they did not want to go above - and adi offered the whole farm so fair play to them.

Not sure how this whole thing works, but I'm just wondering what happens the next time a club like RM wants to negotiate their next kit deal? Surely they'll be looking at United's and thinking considering our stature, we can get at least equal to that or slightly less?

Adidas will be bankrupt within the next ten years unless they shift a shit load of football merchandise!

This really does put to bed "who the biggest club in world football is". Twice as much a Real Madrid's deal :lol:

Think we should go ahead and buy Messi now....

Nike know how much money they make from United, they'll also be aware of the projected growth in America. The numbers didn't add up for them, so they pulled the plug. It's a big gamble by Adidas, the sums are huge!

I think we need to admit that if it wasn't for the Glazers then we wouldnt be getting this kind of deal to begin with. For all the burdens they put on the club at the start they're starting to earn their keep (I know that sounds arrogant, but still).

Wow!

Hopefully some of that money goes towards increasing the capacity, that's the next step for the club

This is amazing, but can't help but think Adidas are opening Pandora's box in negotiation to other future kit deals as other clubs will be there going 'Manchester United get this, we want this'.
Absolutely. I'd expect Real Madrid and Bayern to get bigger deals, and rightly so.

They have Revenue streams numbering in the 10's of Billions, No way will any potential future deals bankrupt them, not even close.
I wasn't being serious. It's a huge commitment though if the likes of Madrid, Bayern etc want parity.

Its says a 'minimum' of 750 million. That's absolutely amazing
It just means that they're contractually obligated to pay that amount and can't pay less. Doesn't mean that they will pay more, unfortunately.

The Chevrolet deal kicked in last year, I think. Plus we charged them a few million just for the pleasure of doing the deal.

I understand Madrid maybe but why would you expect Munich to get a bigger deal? Globally we are bigger than Bayern and in turn Adidas will profit from us more than they would be them.

Congrats to Woodward and co. Really good fecking business this.

We're doing things in the right way - ever since Moyes was sacked, it's just good news after good news.
