Hernandez and Mata haven't done anything, Jones hasn't looked good at the back. That's about it.

I like Nani but not convinced he is the solution here - would like to see Kagawa on for Mata.

Hoofing the ball or playing it down to the wingers that have no clue what to do whatsoever. Exactly the way we played last season. A bit sad considering the refreshing way we played in pre season.

Saw it coming against Valencia already and now we have finalized our transition back to the old way.

Think some players still thought this was pre-season. LVG will fix this.

We need to create the fear factor asap. Swansea coming to OT should not be allowed to play, not to mention to score. Our players are still lacking confidence ffs

hernandez is probably going to make way for nani or kagawa, we really are missing welbeck's pace and technique in this system.

doesnt make sense to play januzaj in a 3-5-2 system. we'll have to change it up...hernandez has to go off..doesnt contribute outside the box enoug..roooney needs to be more involved..he refuses to run the channels..needs to do it more

Got to press swansea more... we waste so much time when they are just passing it about at the back. We are 1-0 down ffs. At home.

What was the difference between that first half and the typical shite we saw from Moyes every week last season? Poor start for van Gaal.

It just looks like the team hasn't come together yet. Van Gaal did say that we'll need couple months before we can settle, though, so I'm willing to give him time just like I did with Moyes.

Never thought this was going to be easy, either, I've predicted a 2:1 win so here's hoping we improve after the break.

I agree with the sentiment that Hernandez should come off. It'd be more beneficial to have both Kagawa and Mata playing tbh. We desperately need that creativity right now.
Agree. Chicharito is asking to be sold at this rate. It's unfortunate, but that is what's happening.

What's going on with James Wilson? Is he injured as well?

No need to spell it out, because Swansea did it for us. If we don't sign a class CM and CB, the likes of Vidal and Hummels, we might be looking at a worse finish than 7th. And a triumvirate of Sir Alex, Mourinho and Ancelotti at the helm couldn't change that.

Players win matches. And barring Rooney and Mata, our squad is completely average. 10th place average.

we look bloody rubbish, Swansea don't look any better but have managed to blag a goal.

All very sh!t so far. Pleas ebe better second half.

Easy to forget we do have 6 out, in VP, Shaw, Evans, Valencia, Rafael and Welbeck. At least 4 of those would have started.

But we do look woefully short. Top 4 on this team is out of the question.

Roll on the second half, a goal will change everything, but I have a horrible feeling we'll end up with Rooney, Hernandez, Janujaz, Kagawa, Mata and Nani on the pitch and still create nothing.

    Lemmy has forsaken us....
At least one of those set pieces should have been popped by Young, doing the same thing over and over is pointless.

Swansea playing a bit dirty too, someone would want to clatter slaphead or something, give them a bit back.

Van Gaal's gonna realise pretty soon that he will need significant signings if he intends to compete with the top teams in the league. I know he has to get to know the whole squad and assess the qualities of the players, but to anyone who has watched Utd closely for the last couple of years it seems pretty obvious that we have to strengthen in more than one area.
Really should've signed a couple more players before the start of the season. At the moment Gary Monk's Swansea is outplaying Van Gaal's Man Utd.

New season, same old shit. How can people expect us to finish 4th with a squad that's even worse than the one we had last season?! LvG isn't a miracle worker.

We've been the dominant side by far but have failed to create anything. Attacking players have been poor. Hernandez simply shouldn't be starting games, has always been much better coming off the bench. Herrera probably the pick of the bunch so far.

The lads need to be sure not to drop their heads and have flashbacks to last season. Team talk will be important here. If we can get it right in the second half we will beat these 3-1.

Fletcher did well in pre-season but now the pace has increased he is getting found out. We're getting bossed in midfield.

Why are people mocking Hernandez, he's doing more than Rooney from what I've seen.

Didn't really create a chance, poor. Arguably the team is even weaker than last year so hardly a surprise. Manager isn't on the pitch and has limited influence, quality amongst the playing staff still severely lacking. Polish a turd and all that. Hate the Glazers.

Hate to be too harsh and quick in judgement, however we are playing about like how I expect a squad like ours to play. As soon as that goal went in all of last years pains flooded back into the players. We are too slow, not combative enough, passing is wayward. Young is a wingback but never once does he take his defender on, only passes it straight back. Chich adds absolutely nothing to our play. I don't think LVG will panic, but surely he can see our squad is too thin. We need a few more top class players or we are going to linger around 5-7 again. Not promising.

Hernandez kills us in this system, we haven't looked the same since we lost Welbeck in that role pre-season.

    I think people are overreacting.

    Here are the facts:

    - We've completely dominated, their goal came against the run of play.
    - We've limited Swansea to two attacks, they scored from one of them.
    - Yes the defence is looking a bit sloppy, but that is to be expected.
    - We've had some pretty good attacks, but we've been let down at the final moments, whether it be a poor touch from Rooney or some Swansea player flying into a tackle.
    - We have a couple of options off the bench.

I'll start worrying when we reach the 80th minute and the score is still the same. Until then I have belief that we can easily take control of the game from the 46th minute. All we need is that final bit of class in the last third.

Herrerra's got to come off for me, liability. Get Nani on, swap put Adnan central and bring Mata in CM.

Still think we'll be alight and I can see Swansea picking up a few more cards 2nd half.

Lot's of Jones and Smalling hoofing it up to 3 players who are all under 5 ft 10. Really smart.

Hernandez really has done nothing, Kagawa should come on and push Rooney furthest forward. Either that or bring James on and shift Januzaj up front.

I guess I was the only one that thinks Herrera had a decent half and Januzaj has looked strong. I think Nani will come on for Hernandez and play at RWB with Januzaj moving up top with Rooney.
