Only pass marks are for Blackett, Welbeck (because he ran around) and Jones (because he ran around and didn't manage to make a mistake, despite looking like he might for the whole game).

    Oh and DDG.

I am not even mad Chelsea and Co are 5 points away already because they arent our direct rivals this season. IF we can find at least one actual football player for our midfield (sorry but Cleverley and Fletcher should play at Hull or Burnley or whatever) we may be able to challenge 4th (and LVG knows that if you go by his latest miracle comments)

I think its going to take a fair few years before we get back to the top. There are just too many awful players in our squad, it will take time to replace them all.

We need to bid double the asking price of all the players we need to buy this week. That's how bad things are right now.

Flethcher was decent. Its cleverley who was bad
I'm sorry but were we watching the same game. He was to be charitable below average. Gave the ball away no less than 5 times and had to replaced by AJ who is not even a cm.

It's not all that bad you know...

I remember 2007/08 season when we drew against Reading opening day, then drew against Portsmouth then lost to Manchester City in the third game. 2 points out of 9 then. Yes things have changed since then, but things always get better. With the midfield injuries we have, it was inevitable that we'd struggle today in midfield. Cleverley really isn't good enough for us, which makes me hope that we ship him out in the next week.

2 games in a row, where only Jones and Rooney has an acceptable game. Not nearly good enough. If this continues we should be extremely happy with a topp 7 finish.
Thought he was dire to be honest.

Given the players we have out, the starting lineup we used, this 3-4-1-2 that's still a work in progress, I think a point was fair. Every time Sunderland went forward I felt like we would concede, and that's pretty scary when you consider who we are and who they are. This shouldn't be happening against a team like Sunderland.

Valencia, Young, Fletcher, Cleverley are just no where near good enough and I can't believe we aren't making more of an effort to get rid of some of these players although I understand we're in a bit of an injury crisis.

I'm also confused about the decision to play Januzaj in centre midfield. We need reinforcements badly.

As much as I like Fletcher, and really hoped he would regain his old form, I see no proof that this will ever happen. I don't think Fletchers performance today would've been classified as "accepted" in any Premier League club at all. Disturbing that Fletcher just made vice-captain to be honest.

Spurs are our direct rivals though and they are 5 away.

We seriously need a top midfielder now, hell, any midfielder at this point. If not we are completely screwed.

Mata has to be dropped, was bad once again, every time he gets the ball all he does is passing it backwards.

I understand adjusting to a new system is hard, especially if you have some players who fill roles they're not made for, but I honestly didn't think we'd be this poor. This is worse than the football we played under Moyes last year.

    Cleverley, Fletcher and Young pathetic

Valencia would have also been in there apart from the assist.

Rooney dreadful today. RVP very quiet.

Welbeck did ok when when on as a sub. Jones had a decent game.

    Overall, more dogshite
Very hard to disagree with any of that. Its almost like we have an entire group of players who have gone 'stale'.

LVG needs to change things, really shake things up.

Great to see nobody trying to step up. No one! Rooney is no captain material. Everybody has been shit today. Apart from Blacket and DDG who passed the ball better than our CM

This game showed us nothing we didn't already know. Without a midfield that can a) protect the defence, and b) pass the ball intelligently and allow us to actually progress up the pitch with the ball instead of passing it sideways until we lose it, we don't stand a chance of breaking into the top 4.

While di Maria is a type of player we could really use, someone who will actually try to do something different than turning back and playing it towards the centre mids whenever he gets the ball, we really need at least two CM signings. We also need two centre halves considering the feckton of injuries we insist on getting to our defensive players.

It's so frustrating watching us nowadays. Professional footballers who can't think to move forward when there's space free, and who can't pass the ball to the area in front of the recipient when they're running forward, thus making them wait for the ball and giving the opposition a chance to get back and regroup. No fecking wonder we always have a fully organised team ahead of us when trying to attack.

I'm stugling the decision to have januzaj in midfield there tbh, hes a flair player who has to take risks for something to come to fruition and the position he was subbed on was just absolutely pointless, kinda boggled my mind.

Can't say I have witnessed that many more awful displays in 30 years of watching United (even last season). Painful to watch at times. Why was Adnan brought on in midfield, totally nullifies his threat! Our players seemed so scared on the ball, would not take any one on bar once for the goal. Words escape me on Cleverley, I pray I never see him in a United shirt again. Overall just very bad and another injury to boot.

It was worrying seeing the lack of urgency in the last 10 minutes. No player out there wanted to take the responsibility to create a chance or a shot.

Tom Cleverley isn't even a footballer. He's just some bloke we pay to stand on the pitch. Played two completely blind passes in quick succession.

The defense has been very good today except for on one corner.
Tom Cleverley was good as a kid when he had something to aim for. Since he got the reality TV girlfriend and is mixing with celebrities he has gone to shit. Happens with a lot of footballers. You should always want to be better. Maybe he thinks he had reached that level already.

Same, he didnt seem on today. He didnt fight for the ball the way he used too, nevertheless he was acceptable today. Actually think Januzaj was close to MOTM for us, as he was last match. He's still one of the few bright spots for us.

Another waste of 90 minutes. Shit, shit, shit performance.

We were lucky to get a point. I'm fecking delighted with that.

I have no positives. None. Not even Blackett's assured performance gives me reason to raise a smile.

I never want to see Young, Cleverley, Fletcher or Valencia in a United shirt again. But sadly, I know these players will continue to put in inept performances and continue earning hundreds of thousands of pounds a week.

We've got the easiest start out of the Premier League, yet we continue to try our best to lose points and feck things up.

It will take a while to undo the bland football we seem to have ingrained into the fibre of our club since Moyes took over.

I feel sorry for LVG having to try and make these shite players play football. It's like trying to make donkeys into thoroughbred racehorses.

Yes we're ravaged by injury but that still doesn't explain how our players still look so hapless on the ball. Slow, pedestrian, laboured, predictable. Against a top four contender we would've been massacred.

Things can only get better. To start off, we need a completely new midfield.

    /Meltdown.
