I think it has come as a bit of a shock to him. Still, I'm not worried because he'll get it right. Shocking display but really it's just a continuation of last season's rubbish and it will take a lot more than a few games for Van Gaal to work out the kinks. A lot of players need to get shipped out and soon but that might be asking a lot. He's only been in the job a month. That's no time to really get to grips with a club of this size.

Absolutely shocking. I mean, sure there were a lot of youngsters today, but meeting passes I learned when I played football at the age of 10. And passing shouldn't be this bad, even when an oppo was 2 metres ahead of us, we just passed it right in their feet. Absolutely shit. I almost don't know what too say.

For all the people blaming the system. The system had absolutely nothing to do with us loosing tonight. It was just pure sh*tness from every player on the pitch.

I've heard that Van Gaal want to play a 3 in defence.

For yet another game there did not appear to be any in defense!

In fact, he's making Moyes look good!

PLEASE ... let the new signings come up to speed and give us some grit in our team!

Struggling with this system but giving easy ball away for the first 3 goals has nothing to do with the formation. Confidence in the system is lacking but it's completely new, one thing that worries me other than results is us playing 3 CB's when it seems we haven't even got 2 decent ones. Evans was shocking.

I live in Germany and remember the nightmare start BAyern had under Van Gaal , but just as Van Gaal had promised after a couple of months the team improved and went on to win the Double and lose in the Champions league final.
I'm sorry but that Bayern side had quality all over the park. This United team is extremely top heavy, the defense and midfield is atrocious. Van Gaal may be a genius, but he's no miracle worker.

The biggest mistake was to put on side like this and let them play 3-5-2. Some of the key players in the system looked absolutely out of it like they played it for the first time. It is a mistake by Van Gaal. Some of the individual errors should not happen anyway. Pereira looked to be bossing it in the last minutes, finally they gave him chance to play more centrally. Some schol-esque passes there. Hernandez and evans as first team players looked absolutely shit. Anderson in his first match after a year looked decent enough to start ahead of cleverley and fletcher. And Welbeck, even with a terrible distribution made something of it. Do we really want to sell our best striker? Van Persie would struggle to get on the end of the balls, same with Rooney.. Yeah and Wilson looked bright he should be considered as immidiate chicho's replacement

My thoughts are that Powell is our best player today?
I thought he was bad, constantly getting caught out of position. Put in no defensive work at all, tried and failed to switch the ball. The only positive thing being he has a great shot on him.

Though Pereira was the most impressive of the youngsters.

Coming to our strikers, who most of us value at 35m combined should be able to break MK Dons on their own!!

Well I did guess 5-0 to MK Dons...

Even with youngsters, that is a shocking scoreline. The fact that we had a few 'first teamers' in there too is frankly a joke.

    Sort it out LvG.

Player quality doesn't matter when we play like this. It's obvious that the players are still mentally weak and showing signs of the Moyes era with their lack of belief and willingness to win. Even de Gea was poor, lacking confidence and belief in himself.

We even saw this in the first team in the past couple of matches with the lack of belief epitomised by the overly slow, safe play that is unlike how we performed in pre-season when the pressure wasn't on to get results. With the pressure on for results, our players are afraid to lose rather than willing to win, and this was epitomised by the performance against MK Dons.

Hope Pereira plays against Burnley. He's already our best midfielder bar Herrera.

Some of the reactions here are ridiculous! The loss to Swansea was worse than this. We sent out a young side and they gave what they had. The senior players in Evans, Anderson and Hernandez were the worst of the bunch. I bet you Fellaini, Cleverley , Valencia or Young wouldn't have a difference.

    The Kids will be alright.
DEfinately, hopefully some senior players will have now kicked their last ball in a United shirt!

That's probably the easiest game that MK Dons will have the entire season.

I think we can form a team for deadwood and call it deadwood XI. I'm sure it will have subs too!

This was not like Netherlands v Spain. Defending wise it was more like England v Germany in 2010.

Why is Evans still a United player is beyond any comprehension. He should be sacked immediately along with Anderson.

God help us if Welbeck is our best striker.

LVG seems so short minded and bullish with his 352/philosophy/system stuff. If you want to change the system of a big team on long-term, buy the right players for it and so on okay. But if you play youth players and averagers against a motivated little club with a record crowd you obv can not use a new system! feck that

That was pitiful, if that's what we have to look forward to from the youth teams we might as well give up now.

Not a pair of bollocks between them. I felt sorry for Big Dave.

As much as it was funny to see, I didn't want this happening. Too early. Bad result for rivals chasing 4th. It just gives your squad more preparation for these PL games and your strongest 11 will be out every week.

Clearly most our players don't have any idea what they are doing in this 3-5-2 formation. They don't know when to go forward or when to defend, and they clearly aren't communicating very well. Our players have lost faith and an intensity that I haven't seen since SAF retired. On top of that, not once, not a single time, did I see van Gaal or Giggs walk out to the touchline to yell at/direct our players.

To think some are heralding Evans returning from injury as a good thing. After that performance he would be lucky to start a game again this season

Unbelievable couldn't understand why the likes of Anderson and Chicarito started or why so many inexperienced lads were out there. Our first touch was poor on so many occasions but all the players were unbelievably shite, Wilson apart. I can forgive the younger lads but they were let down badly by the older players ,Christ what a day.

The only credit to our club tonight was, as per usual the away fans. I hope the club does the right thing and refunds them after that shower of shit.
