The only worry I have for this game is Shaw and Rafael. Will they be ready for this game is what concern me. I just don't want to see Valencia and Young anymore.

If Shaw is not available for this one, it wouldnt be a bad idea to play Blind at left wingback instead of fecking Young. He might be here primarily to play defensive mid but better him there than Young.
I'd rather play him in midfield and leave Young there.

Can you really see Falcao and RVP playing at the same time? I don't think so.
    We will go 3-5-2

    De gea
    Smalling Jones Rojo
    Rafael Blind Shaw
    Herrera DiMaria
    Rooney/Mata
    Falcao/RVP
WTF.What formation is that? 3-2-2-1-1. Why is everything on the side

I cry when I see Di Maria in CM. He is Brutal in wing and the QPR full backs won't have a chance against him

Is Shaw definitely going to be fit? Everyone seems to be putting him in their teams, have I missed something?

Hate Sunday games and any games during the week because of work. Therefore Saturdays are me days. Don't bother me because I'm watching footy. Everyone can feck right off.

No it's a 3-5-2 with a defensive midfielder behind the midfield two rather than having the extra striker. I'd also say it's what we are most likely to see in the next few games.

    ---------DDG---------
    Rafa-Jones-Rojo-Shaw
    Blind--Herrera--Di Maria
    ---------Mata---------
    ----Rooney-Falcao-----

With the players we now have available, i hope we stop with the 3-5-2 and revert to a 442/433.
I think this is pretty much the near ideal template if everyone is fit.

Mata if he's got the hamstring strain swapped with Rooney, and VP coming in up front.

I'll be physically sick if we don't switch to a back 4 now, I hate the 3 at the back it's so bland and negative.

I'll also be sick if I see Valencia, young or fletcher in the team, hopefully shaw, rafa and Herrera are back

But it is highly unlikely LVG will give up on 3 CB's before he has a chance to try the system with the players he has bought.

So i'd have a sick bag ready matey.

His representation seems a little weird, but that was what we played in the last game. Our starting lineup against Burnley is like this:
    De gea
    Evans Jones Blackett
    Valencia Fletcher Young
    Mata DiMaria
    Rooney
    RVP

Even if we're still playing 352, if we can get Rojo, Rafa, Shaw and Blind replacing Blackett, TonyV, Fletch, Young from our last starting team, that would still be a huge plus. We should also have Herrara and Falcao at our disposal.

Of course, I can see most people here are hoping to see the returning of back 4. One less defender means one more midfielder (most likely Herrara or Mata), and I think we desperately need them right now.

Assuming Rafa is still injured and Shaw + Herrera make it back.

    DDG
    Jones Evans Rojo Shaw
    Herrera Blind Di Maria
    Mata
    Rooney Falcao
Call it a 433, it's basically Di Maria in the middle with freedom to go forward, Blind in a DM holding role to shield our defense. Mata plays in his natural position with Rooney dropping down to help if needed. United 4 - 1 QPR
If Rafa makes it back I'd prefer him on the RB and swap Evans for Jones

If we can't beat QPR at home (and convincingly) we may as well pack up and forfeit the season. After the purchases made this summer, we should be steamrolling this kind of team.

Yup, i agree...I do not mind a convincing goal margin, but I hope we can at least play well. With Jones and smailling possibly injuried, I would not be surprised if Qpr got an upset because our defense still looks unconvincing. On the positive, Qpr sold Remy and their team seems to have a lower team chemistry than ours. So, we should beat them I would imagine

With Jones and Smalling injured, the only back 3 we can play is Evans-Rojo-Blackett. I'd rather go for a 4-3-3, than have that back 3.

Is failing to beat Swansea, Sunderland and Burnley not a big enough indicator that a change on the field is needed?

He has players more suited for a 4-2-3-1/4-2-1-2-1/4-3-3 than he does for a 3-5-2. The only reason to stick with a 3-5-2 is because he's stubborn. There's no actual objective reason to use 3-5-2 anymore, especially with Shaw and Rafa back.
LvG wants to see how his first team will do with the formation before dropping it. Look, I don't think any formation was saving Fletcher, Valencia and Young from playing like shit.

With Jones and Smalling injured, the only back 3 we can play is Evans-Rojo-Blackett. I'd rather go for a 4-3-3, than have that back 3.
Isn't Smalling back from Injury? I think the only one injured was supposed to be Carrick,

If Rafael is out through injury still, I think I'm going to have a little moment before the match. I really need to see this guy again.

    Shaw is fit and available
Rafa should be fit and available
    Rojo is available
    Herrera is fit and available
    Falcao is available
    Blind is available

Really looking forward to this game, our season starts here.

We really are going to be putting out a very different looking team from everything we have seen so far this season. So many new faces to come in right now. I'd expect us to win the game, but I can see a whole lot of disjointedness between players as well.

I think there will be many dissapointed people when the team is announced. I just can't see LVG selecting a side with so many new faces and guys back from injury. I still think he will play 352.

I would love us to throw a full strength 11 on the field in a 433 formation with RVP leading the line and Falcao to come off the bench, as I feel he may not be 100% match fit just yet.

I'm hoping for a Falcao hat trick so all the Danny Welbeck loving in the media can be put to rest!

That won't stop shit. Danny just scored two against Norway. Media's licking his ass for along time yet.

I actually refused to listen to the radio this morning, I can imagine all the Welbeck debating going on especially on Talkshite.

As long as LvG gets the midfield selection right we should create enough to put this lot to bed

    Long-time lurker first time poster…
Hopefully after the shambolic start to the season we can get a win (by any means) and start to build some momentum.
    DDG
    Jones/Smalling
    Evans
    Rojo
    Blind
    Shaw

    Herrara
    ADM
    Mata

    Rooney
RVP (Introduce Falcao for the final 30 if suitable).
Watched Spurs demolish a disorganised QPR we should be pummelling these lads.

I think Blind will end up as a left wingback and fletcher will play in the middle, don't think Shaw will be fully fit yet.
