the boys must be up for this

    home game against qpr
    new signings
    injured players back
    rivals dropping points

if they arent up for this we are surely doomed. anything less than a win would be a disaster, points wise and morally

I doubt it would be really, disaster is way to strong word for me,even if we win tomorrow,we still could play bad in a game after tomorrow. I hope that QPR game is clicking point but doubt it.

I know I may be asking for too much all things considered, but I want us to absolutely batter them.

    It's been a while since we've given a team a good thumping.

    5-0 United.

Ye. Well I suppose the main thing is that we get a win.
Indeed, even a good battering of QPR won't be the signal to be waving your willy about though. Reckon we're in for a bit of a roller coaster next few months.
Easily the most exciting time I can remember as a United fan, since the resurgence under SAF.

Any formation other than the god awful 352 or 532 (whichever it is) and I fancy us to smash QPR.

I don't think we're going to batter anyone yet to be honest. If we win tomorrow it will probably be by a single goal. Everything is very new at the moment. New players, manager, tactics, formation. The injuries haven't helped also in building an understanding between players.

If we can minimise the injuries then you might see us battering teams by the time January comes. This is always how it is with van Gaal. His teams play brilliantly in the second half of the season and are usually slow starters.

This is one of the big reasons why I love football. Things can change in a blink of an eye. A few weeks ago, it was all doom and gloom with the awful results, now we're about to witness the likes of Di Maria and Falcao play together in our shirt and three of our rivals have dropped points. I'll take just about any kind of win right now, but have a feeling we're in for a big score in our favour.

We really need to have a good performance, this game needs to kickstart our season. We can get back to a respectable position if we get the win here, one point from Arsenal and Liverpool, two from City and Spurs. Anything less than a win and we are hovering over the relegation zone, it is freaky to even think about it.

Just really need to see a good performance, get the 3 points and tank some confidence. Hopefully alot of the new players will start or atleast get some minutes, I'am also hoping that he gives Januzaj a shot.

I'am basically hoping for something like this:

    -----------------DDG--------------------
    ----------Blackett----Rojo---------------
    -----------------Blind-------------------
    Rafael----------------------------Shaw
    ----------------Herrera-------------------
    -------Januzaj----------Di Maria------------
    ---------------Rooney------------------
    -------------------Falcao--------------

Bench: RVP, Mata, Fletcher, Anderson, Valencia, Evans, Lindegaard

(assuming Young, Smalling, Jones etc won't play due to injurry)

But I think it is likely Shaw might start from the bench and Rojo to play as wingback with Evans starting next to Blackett in the centre. Also think Rafael will start from the bench and Valencia will start in his place. And Januzaj might have to make room for Mata.

Oh god, it shows how low we are at the moment that i'm really struggling to know how a home game against QPR is going to go.
We will either batter them or lose 0-1.

Hope we smash them but I reckon it'll be a tight game with Sandro, Barton & Ferdinand playing out of their skins, also think that if we play 3 at the back tomorrow it'll be our formation until at least January as there's really no excuse now to not be able to change to a back 4 given the players we've brought in and that most of the injured players are now fit. I reckon we'll go for

    ------------de gea
    ----Evans -- Rojo -- Blackett
    Valencia---Herrera --Blind---Shaw
    ------------di Maria
    --------Rooney--Falcao

I reckon he'll give Falcao a start due to him only playing once over the international break last Friday whereas RvP's most recent game was on Tuesday so has probably only been back in training for a couple of days, also wouldn't surprise me if di maria plays lwb and mata starts at AM. Made a prediction before in this thread but it was right after the Burnley game :nervous: I'll go for 2-1, Herrera & Rooney for us, Austin for them. Three points is the most important no matter what though given that three of last season's top four have dropped points.

People are in for a shock if they think he's gonna drop the 352.
Lack of CB is why I think he might change formation. Smalling and Jones are injured, which means only Evans, Rojo and Blacket are our available CBs? If we start with all of them, we cant afford an injury. Not only that, now we have ADM, Herrera, Blind fit and ready. Aka, we can actually line up in a 3 man midfield.

If he does go for a 433 or a 4231 what does he do with rooney/falcao/rvp i mean i'm all for a 433 type of formation but if we can some how get a 2 striker formation to work i'd love that.

I think blind might play as one of the three at the back tbh.

The obsession with fantasy formations is staggering on here! You do know this is something that you have absolutely no control over right? Do you actually think LVG and Giggsy are coming into this thread taking notes from 'the Caf coaching experts'?

I am not a fan of one way or another, but how can LvG or us the fans really judge if a formation works without all of the right pieces. We are practically seeing an almost entire new side these couple of weeks, which could alter our opinion entirely.

This is probably the only thing that will make LvG change his mind.

LvG just said he will play him as a DM. I don't think LvG has any desire to play all 3 strikers. I just think he wants that quality at his disposal.

If we play the dreaded 3-5-2 then I think it'll end up a draw or loss. But if we play 4-3-3 I can see us winning comfortably.

Would be great if it could be one of those perfect days where it all clicks and everyone is buzzing after dishing out a tonking. Then we would have the confidence to beat Leicester next week and go on a run.

One day i can see it just clicking. Free flowing football, and a hammering of some shit team which will get things going. Maybe too early for it to be tomorrow, but it would be nice.

Falcao better have a blinder as I made him my captain(fantasy premier league), and not costa, which seems like a very bad choice now after costa`s performance against swansea

Also the team better win today, the fans deserve it, and were playing QPR, but then again most of teams weve lost/draw werent much better than QPR

But now we have a full team, injured players coming back, and hopefully most of our 6 new transfers should be in the team

all my previous predictions were wrong, by a mile. But i got a feeling this match could be the turning point to better football.

    3-1 to us.

I think DI maria will be focal point in today's game . considering his pace and the lack of it in qpr's defences I reckon if we play DI maria up top as striker along with maybe james Wilson (give the lad a chance in games like this) along with players like rojo and blind we should be able to see a lot of goals. Also , I hope Rooney does go in for some range shooting .. He is awfull when he tries his 1-2 passing game... Hard to predict this one though but might be 3 goals for us and a win
