I reckon Blind will be a cracking signing. His positional awareness is second to none.

Well we dominated. QPR were awful. Feel sorry for Rio.

All the newbies were fantastic. Rooney was super. Blackett great. Rafael excellent.

RVP wasn't clinical today, had a couple of good opportunities to score. Everyone else who started was brilliant. Di Maria, Blierra, Rooney and Rojo were the stand out players for me.

I know he got a goal and an assist, but in terms of general play I don't actually think Rooney is playing that well.

His speed of thought, awareness of teammates, and being able to control and make a pass in tight situations... these all seem quite average, especially in contrast to the ridiculously good Di Maria.

I'm probably just too harsh on him.
Spot on, nothing harsh about it. Rooney, especially playing in the hole, is frustratingly average.

Chuffed with that! My standout player today (- Di maria) was Blind - did a great job sitting in front of the defence and broke up there play really well, was always available and everything he did was with composed class.

Great performance. It's annoying we have to wait 7days for the next game after a performance like that!

Blind looked like he had played there for years, alright its QPR but to just slot in like that was highly impressive.

Blind was phenomenal. Looked as if he has been playing with us for ages. Excellent positional awareness, neat and tidy passing. Excellent signing.

Angel di Maria was fantastic, but for me, it was gantastic seeing Blind there. A proper holding midfielder! What a player. I also loved how Rojo is already taking on the role of the alpha in the back line there; He is a beast. I feel gutted for RVP. He really needs a goal, but him and Falcao might actually work out... GIVE ME ANOTHER!

Good performance against a poor side. The players seemed to press well and in general looked composed on the ball. Aside from a few lapses in concentration we looked solid. On paper the attack we fielded in the end took the piss. A bit more gelling time and I reckon we'll see some really good stuff. Looking forward to see Shaw, but it's good to see we have other players capable of playing left back as well.
Herrera and Blind did really well in the middle which allowed Di Maria to get forward.
I actually enjoyed watching us play again. Totally worth staying up till 3 am for it.

Di Maria best player yet again. What a signing he is.

Agree, Angel di Maria MoM, Mata played extremely well. He dragged the entire QPR defense out of position so many times. Herrera 3rd for me.

Finally saw a lot of football. Hope we can continue this!

DiMaria might very well be the Garrincha of this generation while Ronamessi are the Pele.

Spot on, nothing harsh about it. Rooney, especially playing in the hole, is frustratingly average.

Yeah, few loose first touches too. Better today than he has been though, managed to control a couple of iffy passes alright. I'm normally a hater 'n all.

    10/10
Di Maria - god-like, ridiculously good

    8.5/10
Herrera - energetic, got involved and linked up well
Rafael - we missed his presence on the right flank sooooo much. such a joy to watch him again

    8/10
Blind - calm, reassured presence, simple and effective passing

    7.5/10
Defence (bar Rafael) - solid, played out from back well. Wasn't troubled much

    7/10
Mata - wasn't very effective as a 10, but still decent performance overall and chipped in with a goal
RVP - decent, some nice touches
Rooney - as I said earlier in the thread, I don't actually think he played very well overall, despite scoring one and assisting another. He just seems too... safe at times. I dunno how to put it

The difference it makes in the team selection give us so much balance, from valencia cleverley fletcher mata young to help be the creativity and control of the team a few weeks ago, to rafeal blind herrera di maria mata and rojo, is a big big difference.

Not perfect but when it was on, it was on

Blind was fantastic. He will be a magnificent signing. Di Maria is the player we've been lacking since Ronaldo.

Van Persie remains disappointing and struggles to get into games. I will be very disappointed if Mata is dropped before him.

I can't remember the last time I felt satisfied watching United.

We still had issues when they drove at us which better teams will exploit easily and we stepped off the gas which meant the second half was a borefest but hell, 4-0 and new players scored and played well.

If we can forever stop playing Valencia then all is well.

Blind looked like he had played there for years, alright its QPR but to just slot in like that was highly impressive.

So confident in his passing. Guess the World Cup really gave Blind confidence and his tandem with Herrera ran like clockwork.

I thought the whole team was great as a unit tbh. The standouts for me were Di Maria, Blind, Herrera, Mata, Evans, Rafael and Rojo going forward (although I thought he could have been better defensively). Rooney was very good also. Blackett did pretty well. Only Van Persie was poor really. Also, Valencia was absolutely awful when he came on imo and showed why Rafael surely has to be 1st choice, whether that be full back or wing back. Januzaj was unbelievably selfish at the end and I was very annoyed with him for not passing to one of Falcao or van Persie.

Overall, a great performance though and hopefully we'll kick on from this.

Yeah, few loose first touches too. Better today than he has been though, managed to control a couple of iffy passes alright. I'm normally a hater 'n all.
Yea he was markedly improved today generally, but once he dropped in the hole he missed so many runs and good passes in front of him. Thankfully the game was won by then but i think it will be a major error starting him in that position.
