Think it's a mistake by Liverpool. Of course he's nowhere near what he was, but he's pretty much the only big figure in that dressing room. There's continuity to be lost there. They could have offered him a contract and his performances would have dictated how much game time he was going to get. But I think the way they've dealt with it lacks class. And I don't blame him for going to the US. He can still be viewed as having only played for one club, he's going to the retirement home for an indian summer. He's already got the name for the US market in Stevie G.
