Seattle Seahawks fans' hopes for a second consecutive Super Bowl win were dashed thanks to a brilliant play from New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler. The clinching interception was made possible by what many are deeming a poor play call from coach Pete Carroll.
According to one fan's obituary in The Spokesman-Review, this "lousy play call" had such a profound impact that it caused 53-year-old Michael Sven Vedvik's death.
Props to Vedvik's family for finding levity in a sad situation.
He actually did not watch the game, he was not feeling well and recorded the game to watch later. Unfortunately what he thought was heartburn was actually a heart attack. The family included the bit about the play in the obituary as a joke.

Meh underwear olympics. The draft process is going to be pretty boring, this class is overall pretty weak anyway, apart from RBs. Already looking forward to 2016. :D

Lemmy has forsaken us....
Deflategate conspiracy theories abound.

Read today that the NFL have stated that 10 of the 11 balls were "just a tick" under spec, and only one heavily deflated. The one being the one the Colts gave them, that their safety said felt fine when he intercepted it. So they're saying now that the Colts purposefully deflated it.

Yeah I read that the other day. Its hilarious, and a giant farce. Even if Indianapolis are guilty of something unlikely people will still brand the patriots as cheats. I don't think we'll hear a verdict for ages, because the NFL will try and sweep this under the carpet.

Watching some show on ESPN this weekend and they mentioned that 5 times this year Lynch got the ball at the one yard line, 4 times he failed to score. No idea if this stat is true or not, just tossing it out there.

I just can't envisage him not scoring in 3 attempts. I'm so glad they threw it :)
He did not make it on first down, gained a few yards is all.

If he failed on 2nd down, the Seahawks spend final timeout.

They are probably then in a throw situation so he would not have gotten 3 chances, unless he was just an inch or two short. I am not thinking he gets 3 tries either way, the only really issue with the play calling is the order it took place. run, run , pass, pass is the order it probably should have gone. not run, pass, run, as they seemed to have planned.

I think someone on NFL.com made a good point about him still having the ability, but not the endurance levels to withstand a full season. Especially if he suffers a couple of knocks like he did at the tail end of last season.
