Really don't know what to expect. Managing to lose against Swansea was a woeful, woeful result. Again, Sunderland are absolute bobbins at the moment with only Defoe looking up for it.

The tide of opinion is truly turning on LvG now, hopefully at home we can put on a brave performance to show we aren't out of it yet. Another 90 of timid possession football (and more points lost) and I can see "She cannae take the strain" come 5PM.

Im not sure when we last drew at home, but I cant see how we are going to draw - somebody is likely to get 3 points.

I don't know, some posters have brought up previous examples of players who had to take a few weeks off due to a dead leg.

Physioroom has him down with "hip/thigh injury - no return date." So still unknown - perhaps he won't be enough match fit to recieve a spot in the starting XI.

Two proper fullbacks, play the in form Young and Herrera and our superstars in Di Maria, Mata and Rooney all on the pitch.

We need to pick a system and stick with it, whether the formation on paper is 4231 or 433 it doesn't matter, we just need consistency and surely with these players it HAS to come good, right?!

Leaves good options on the bench in case we need to change something, Fellaini for a more physical presence, Wilson and Valencia for pace and Januzaj also a good option.

But I disagree re Herrera/Mata for Fellaini. Fellaini obviously has his benefits, but a 4-3-3 with those players is pretty much made for passing it around quickly, precisely and to keep the ball on the ground. Putting Fellaini in there would slow everything down and he'd stick out as he has the last few games when he hasn't been played as a target man. We're home against Sunderland as well, we won't need his extra physicality I think.

He played well in those games but he was more in a battling role, rather then a role where we will expect to dominate the possession like tomorrow. Big difference in putting someone like him for some extra steel in midfield in big games, and against relegation candidates at home.

He's not just put in for big games, though, is he? If I remember correctly, Fellaini was brought on against West Brom, who ironically were 'relegation candidates' at the time, because we couldn't create anything with Herrera and Mata in midfield, and looked susceptible to the counter.
