Just realised that we're just one friendly away from the 1sst game of the season! Anyone else think we started pre-season a bit late and not played as many games as we should have? Looks like out 1st XI will be match fit and ready by the spurs game but what about the rest of the lads? Is Van Gaal taking the CL qualifiers into account and not exerting the players too much too soon?
Think we will be fine. We played 5 games(Or 6?) last season including that game midweek just before season started..
Guess the manager wants more time to train on our own than another game.
Didn't Chelsea just play their 2nd game or something?! They do have that community shield game, but I think they are playing the same number of games like us(4) including the Arsenal game.
We should be OK.
I guess I'm just used to us having much longer tours. Would also explain why many youngsters didn't make the trip. Goss hasn't had a chance yet, I'm hoping he gets a few minutes vs PSG
I read an article a while back about how LvG nixed the idea of a preseason game between Aug 1st and 8th to introduce the new Adidas Shirt. He apparently wanted a full week to prepare for the opening game than have a friendly midweek like last season.
I don't think Goss would get minutes, considering Schweinsteiger might be back and he might need minutes to build up towards match fitness. Goss could probably have seen some minutes today instead of Fellaini as he is banned for the first 3 games, but I guess it was too big a game to have a your first game vs Barca maybe?
So I will be going to the chicago game against PSG. It's gonna be my first time watching united play. Any tips on where and how to find players to sign autographs and pose for photos?

I wish he mixed in the youngsters a bit more with the first XI as i think most of us have the feeling that some of the youngsters are just superior to the ones who get first pick. Make it happen Louis.

I'll try and find out for you. One of my friends works for a company sponsoring the event and so I have tickets in the sponsor area on the side of the pitch. I'm planning to heckle Dave about staying.
