Not called the 'Theatre of dreams' for nothing. Young players are the foundation of utds history.
Just wanted to say one thing.

I am not so sure LVG believes it. Or rather he doesn't seem to have the same belief in our current attacking youth options of Perreira, Wilson and Januzaj. We shall see how many chances they get. Perhaps he believes in them and that's why we haven't strengthened further. I doubt it given he hasn't given the same chances to perreira or Wilson as he has to McNair or Blackett.

We don't see them everyday and maybe they are not good enough? In honesty Januzaj just doesn't look ready. Perreira and Wilson in my opinion haven't had the chances cause the options to play haven't been available. Didn't help being knocked out of competitions that historically they may have had a run in.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but everything I've seen on him since we signed him makes me think he's going to be an absolute superstar here. And surprise a hell of a lot of people along the way in doing so. It might just be gut feeling, but I just have a great feeling about this one.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
I'm much happier with this investment than I was when we signed Di Maria. These sort of players are our bread and butter, we need to keep bringing this profile of player in. The only concern that I have is that it's not Fergie that will be developing him as a player as I'm unsure of LVG's ability to nurture this type of talent.

Same LVG who has nurtured many other young talents in the past?

You can criticise his tactics and man-management. But his record with bringing or developing young players through is fantastic.

people should forget the money issue.
Yep. Especially considering that for United, money is no issue. So fans should stop caring if we spend 20m or 30m or 40m on a player. If it's a player who well help us, improve us, then why complain?

What a turn around. Weren't you absolutely devastated and furious with this signing earlier on? I go to Barcelona for a week and you are waxing lyrical about him...

I don't think we got to see his dribbling during his cameo. Just wait till he shows that in a United shirt. The ball never strays more than a couple of inches from his foot, even when he's running at pace. I'm excited - he's a proper United signing. The sort of player Fergie would buy.

Great little performance on the left side of the attack. I fear LVG will probably play with Depay in the hole again, with Martial on the left. :D :(
This is what I'm thinking too, a lot of his YouTube clips show him on the left and then cutting in, exactly Depay's game.

Ideally I'd see him on the right to start with Depay left, and Mata behind Rooney, but sure LvG has a completely differnt plan,

From the videos I've seen he really does look like a wonderful player in the making. Big, strong, lightning pace, perfect first touch, tricky dribbling, an eye for a pass and a cannon for a right foot. I genuinely can't see an obvious weakness. God knows how good he could become.

Hopefully he becomes our version of Sergio Aguero. Still so young though, could also become another Zaha.

It'd be a shame to see him anywhere other than up front, imo. He's got all the tools to be a top striker, particularly given how we lack pace through the middle. I'll admit to not knowing his game inside and out, but I've not seen much to suggest his passing/creativity is good enough for the wing. We're already lacking in that department so I hope we don't drop Mata.

If I had to guess, I'd expect that Rooney will drop back and Martial will play up top.

He doesn't play physical, which led me to think that a little bit of weight wouldn't hurt him, but I'm wrong since he is pretty heavy for a footballer.

I'm not really big up on European football these days so I couldn't tell any of you the first thing about this lad but from what's going around he's got high potential and has been hotly tipped so I'm excited to see how he does for us. I can't wait to see his debut for us a least. Besides, at this stage, we could use another consistent goal-scoring striker to accompany Rooney.

Don't see why he would, he would be moving 2 players out of their favoured position to unfamiliar ones, then again LVG seems to try everything unusual.

Fact is Rooney isn't going to lead our attack successfully anymore, he will do a better job in the 10 role where he can get involved in the game but still arrive in the box and score. While I don't think Rooney is great there either its probably where he is most effective these days if his touch is working.

Martial prowling the backline will make every defense in the country drop that bit deeper, which will give our midfield and wingers more space. He's not going to come in and score bucketloads by himself, but he could be a good catalyst for the rest of the team.

Personally I'm expecting a few stand out moments, maybe 7-8 goals, and a lot of quiet games.

At 19 expectations need to be realistic, no matter what we paid. Really looking forward to seeing him.

I know what you mean, he's got a lovely technical style where he isn't really throwing himself about. He makes a lot of things look quite gentle and tidy, yet you can already see that defenders find him hard to handle from a physical perspective. He has a big frame but will need time to fully fill out. I'd say in 2 years time he will have very few issues with ever being muscled off the ball.

But at the same time we've had fitness problems at the back that forced paddy and Tyler to play. Otherwise I don't think we would have seen them either, certainly not Tyler at least.

Van Gaal has a fantastic track record of developing youth. His track record is second to none.
