Bournemouth are extremely hardworking but don't have much quality at the back as they have distin as their 3rd choice (?) CB. Not to mention their keepers boruc and Frederici have a competition among themselves regarding who will have more howlers this season. They try to play attacking football but most of the time that ends up being their weakness too.

I went for a 3-1 win for us. Not even listed among the top results so couldn't see how many went for it

In a spirit of lowering expectations as per LVG's utterances, who agrees with me that a one-goal defeat would be an acceptable result as long as we have more than 60% possession?

I think the injuries are for the good of the viewers, certainly not the same boredom we are used to. All in with the kids!

Need to get behind the team. Gonna be difficult with lots of injuries, but think we'll win.
We showed some promising signs with the defeat to Wolfsberg. Would like to see Memphis get a run in the side on the left, and Mata behind Martial. Not really sure about Lingard.

As long as we have one or two half chances then LVG can continue to lay the blame at 19 year old Martial's door.

Same. I am recording it and watching it when I wake up. Can't be bothered considering the injuries we have and we probably won't win.
Yeah that's what i do. Only thing is i hate watching games if i know the score, so i avoid the internet until I've finished watching the game

Given the team we'll be putting out, at some point today (probably after defeat/0-0) he'll be having a go at the media for saying he doesn't play the youth, oblivious to the fact that he has no choice because of the ridiculous squad cull in the summer.

    Still laughing at Scousers.
Forget LVG, this game is about players character after last week. Big question about this game will be if the younger players can shake off the Wolfsburg loss, and the older players can show some some maturity and command. Bournemouth have been a surprise and will be hyped up for this game, so the first 20 minutes will be critical and might have to weather a storm. After that, all being well, we will romp home comfortably, especially if the lads decide to prove all the pundits wrong with a nice attacking display.

Predicted a 5-0 Bournemouth straight after our game against Wolfsburg but that's obviously not that likely. After some consideration I'd go for a 3-0 Bournemouth win. I do believe we can edge the possession stat though so it's all good.

Blimey. Working out my starting line up prediction and we really do look short all over the pitch.

If we get 3 points today it will be huge.

    Which was intentional.

    would take a shite 0-1

feel we will go ultra defensive (understandbly so, now it is actually the time to go negative due to injuries) could be 0-0 also.

But that wouldn't be a defeat, we'd have won 60-40.

Lucky that this is an away game, OT would probably be somewhat hostile after Tuesday. A win today though and things should be ok come next Saturday.

I don't know anything about this Bournemouth squad, but I can't see anything than us suffering through 90 minutes again with maybe one or two chances coming from set plays. This team is horrible to watch.

    I just checked the prediction.
13% of people think that we will score 3 or more goals today.
I do wonder if our fans actually watch us play or just turn up, make a prediction and then check out for another week.

Realistically, I see us scoring 0 or 1 goals today. Or like our midweek game or the Watford game, if OG pops up, we may score another.
But I believe our own players are only capable of scoring 1 goal in a 90 minute game. It sucks for me to say that, but our attack is so bad 1 goal a game is about all I expect for now.

In a spirit of lowering expectations as per LVG's utterances, who agrees with me that a one-goal defeat would be an acceptable result as long as we have more than 60% possession?
Yeah, that's actually a win for us (despite the losing scoreline).
"We dominated the game, but did not create enough chances" That's what LVG would say.

    My prediction:

We'll start brightly, stinging the palms of their keeper a couple of times. But as the half wears on we'll start confidently passing the ball around the back like we're 3-0 up. This will give B'mouth more belief and they'll go close a couple of times to end the half.

The second half will be much of the same, with the two teams battling for possession. Suddenly Martial will be tripped up in the area leading to a penalty, which Mata will dispatch.

After this we'll be camped in our half, with B'mouth throwing everything forward for an equaliser. We'll have DDG to thank for a world class save. McNair will be injured trying to scramble away a long ball, leading to Carrick becoming a centre half, partnering Blind. The game will end 0-1, with some more scrappy, negative football being played as we try to preserve what we have and shut up shop, very ineffectively.

LVG in the post match interview will say we created plenty of chances but we are simply not converting them, but he is 'happy' with the team and we're still in with a chance to win the title. This is whilst completely ignoring the chances B'mouth had and that DDG pulled us out of the fire once again. 'You need to give us time,' he says with a wry smile. 'You shall see our process in January. It is not so easy.'

Meanwhile, Javier Hernandez will be celebrating as he caps off another match winning performance with a brace for Leverkusen.

We're going to smash them today. Lots of goals, high tempo possession football with intent and we won't let off once we're ahead.

United are about to go on a rich run of form, hope you all enjoy the ride.

I'm confident we'll do a real number on them tonight after the disappointing performance midweek. 0-0 it is.
