The Italian journalist, Gab Marcotti, said on ESPN FC that the club may have leaked the Mourinho news to threaten the Real Madrid players and force them to play.
So that's what they meant by long term plan...
We criticise the way our club runs things but at least they give managers a chance rather than use them as pawns for politics with the fans like Real seem to.

As much as I enjoy mocking Rafa the team is 4 points off the top in the league having scored 47 goals in 18 games (7 more than any other) and topped a Cl group which had PSG in it, he hasn't done badly at all.
The worst thing about this is @BootsyCollins is going to win the race.
Although, @The Mitcher is in with a shout, depending on how it works.
