Soft red maybe? Didn't see it very well but it looked like a fair challenge. Pereiro on compatriot Godín, who rolled on the ground like he was shot.
It was a second yellow.

Ridiculous red card decision by the ref. Borderline foul, at worst.

Guardado out, he was just coming back from injury.

Atletico lack the creativity of someone like Carrasco today, especially with PSV defending with nine men in front of their goal.

Sucks to hear that. He's limited ability but versatile in positional play and always works very hard. Hard not to like the guy. Hope its not serious.

Atletico's display after going a man up has been pretty underwhelming. Don't they realize the importance of that away goal?

This will make things extremely uncomfortable for Atletico in a few weeks time.
They really arent comfortable when asked to break teams down.

I hope PSV go through. Atletico are so ugly to watch.

Kiev should have taken their chances. Got to be over now after that. Nice shot

Good result for PSV. Obviously going over to Vicente Calderón and holding a draw there is going to be their hardest trial yet.

I don't think he's re-injured. I meant he didn't play all 90 because he was just coming back from injury.
Also, I think he's easily the most skilled player for PSV. He has great vision of field. On top of being really hard working. Of course, this isn't as visible on big CL matches, but at Eredivisie level I'd say he is.

Atlético a real disappointment tonight. Nothing about them going forward here.

PSV could make things very difficult for Atletico if they manage to score an away goal, unfortunately I can't really see them scoring in Vicente Calderon. Atletico will probably scrape through with a 1-0 win or something like that, very uninspiring performance from them tonight though. I won't be surprised to see another 0-0 at Real this weekend.

I hope Atletico go out. They had an incredible opportunity here and wasted it by passing it around and attacking half-heartedly. Deadly boring team to watch.

In all fairness City performed really well tonight and for a first leg in a European tie it was a great game to watch, not cagey at all.

Shame it has to be City doing, ultimately a English team doing well is well needed help to our PL champions league places, aslong as they don't win it.

Oh i see. Its good to see him doing well. At Valencia he was more of a hustler so that was what i was thinking of.

He's played all over the pitch. For Valencia he was mostly played as left-back. Before that he used to be a left winger for Depor.
I'd say he's found his best position as either deep-lying playmaker or left interior for PSV and Mexico.

How did Bayern raise the bar? They won CL with Heynckes and that was it for them. Next year Guardiola came and lost 5-0 to Real Madrid in two games and last year Barca won 3-0 in the first game and that was it for them. Guardiola lost 55% of their away games in Europe.
Well obviously Bayern's achievements have not been as impressive as Barcelona's. Behind Barcelona, nobody won the CL more than once for about a decade but they reached three finals and more impressively for me at least, reached a level of dominance that they exerted over fellow top teams that we just do not see that often if ever. The way they performed in supposedly big games against the likes of City or Arsenal has been quite simply extraordinary. They haven't complimented it with more CL wins which is why they are behind Barcelona but out of the chasing pack, they are comfortably on top when you take the past 5 or 6 years.
