Magical Manchester United.

EMD: Barca's main target upfront will be Gameiro, who has a €40m release clause. They only want to pay €25m though, and alternatives are Vietto, Lucas Perez of La Coruna and a currently still unknown player.

I was hoping he could be an outside option for us. Very quick, good finisher and also strong. Can play right and centre.

Isn't he your first choice? who is yours first choice centre-backs?
No he's fallen down to 4th choice behind Toure. Lovren has improved loads since Klopp came in, and Sakho was the best of the rest. I think Matip has been brought in as a starter too so Skrtel was always going to struggle to get any game time.

Napoli to bid €20m for Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso. OL ready to reject that offer but #Arsenal hold an interest too. (L'Equipe)

Seems like Arsenal's name is just thrown in there. Hope we are interested.

#Lyon also fighting to hold onto defender Samuel Umtiti, who is in discussions with Barcelona. No deal reached between clubs yet.

Why is it that BVB can tie up deals for players currently playing in the Euros but we can't?
The funny thing is that people are worried that BvB are selling too much but they are actually tying up deals as they go along on the other hand we are still tying our laces!

Yet nobody's batting an eyelid at City (or us) throwing €50m at Sane, a kid we've seen just as little of.

Unfortunately I think that City will be in pole position here since I can envision CL being a deciding factor, and probably Pep.

We could point to Martial and Rashford and show which chances youth are offered at us compared to City though, basically if you are good enough RW starting spot is yours.

Really want this player. Him on the right and Martial on the left would traumatize defenders.

Where the grass is greener.
Our name being thrown in there now randomly when it seems the City deal is so close, swear this is the first time we've been linked with him in a long time.

This. I'm yet to see why the huge fuss is made about Sane.
Champions League Qtr Final in Madrid.... plus hes been good in a better league than Embolo. Both are top talents though.

I'm not siding on one over the other it just seems the Caf experts can tell you whether a player is worth a certain amount based on his age, contract or even tell you if we shouldn't sign someone because of their mentality.

The way I look at it is if the club truly wants a player the selling club will always raise the amount if United are involved, we can't base it on our own valuation as a supporter or then feel we were right, if the said player then goes to another club for less. We tend to buy high, sell low and I'm not sure how some of the other European clubs tend to do the opposite.

Personally though I'm all for signing young talent but nothing will get my inner muppet harder than signing an already elite top class player.

I hope Memphis and Adnan are given chances to show their quality next season. Not sure if I'm in the minority in that regard but it sure does feel like it.

I hope so too, but I also hope we bring in players as competition too, in case they don't do well.

Depends on their attitudes. They have to give everything they have in training to get chances in games. If they carry on as reported, which has not to be true, but if it was, then i see dark for boh of them, especially Januzaj

That's true enough. I think that having Ibra around will help them, take the spotlight off them, so to speak. From what I've seen, I think they've got enough talent between them to still build successful careers at United, even if they don't hit the heights of Ronaldo or Giggs.
