I'm not, that's a scenario where they won this last game.
They didn't, so moot.

If Warriors had won, they'd have the best regular season record and the title. 2001 Lakers have the best playoff record. So does that make them the best team ever? Doubtful.

Props to Draymond Green though. Actually turned up for game 7 and even had the class to stay behind and congratulate James.

Of course it's moot, it's just a hypothetical question.

And I made a mistake, at the time, there were best of five in first round, so, Bulls that season had a 15-3 playoff record. Which is the team I'm leaning to as the finest ever.

I cheered hard for Seattle back then though.

Well '01 Lakers did go 15-1. Playoff records aren't really factored in the conversation for best team of all time. My personal favorite team has to be the '87 Lakers; that was entertainment at it's finest.

Never expected this. Kudos to James, still the best player in the world, I must say.

Warriors did a Thunders in these finals.

Are people seriously calling them the best team ever? Are people mad?

I'd also like to point out that this shows Curry's and put an end to the discussion that he is better than Bron.

To be fair, Curry was easily the best player in the regular season, which was shown by him being the first unanimous MVP ever. But on the playoffs, especially in the finals, James was on GOAT mode. I cannot remember a player dominating that much in the finals since Jordan days. On these three last matches (when it mattered most), I don't remember someone being better than him in the last 20 years.

And leading the finals in all of points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks is likely unprecedented (maybe Wilt Chamberlain did that too, but I have no idea).

So considering that the playoff is what matters most, yep, James is the best player in the world.

The Bogut injury killed the Warriors. It meant Ezeli and Varejao would have to play more and they could not really use the "death" lineup since Barnes was playing as poorly as possible. But, kudos to the Cavs. I have doubted them all year and thought they would be easy work for the Warriors or Spurs.

@Revan It would have been possible for Wilt to do that because Blocks and Steals were not official NBA stats in his career.

No idea about steals, but even without checking the stats, I am near sure that he leaded on points, rebounds and blocks. He also had some seasons when he made a ton of assists (he averaged over 8 assists in a playoff). But other than him, cannot imagine someone leading everything as James did.

Well played Cavs, I didn't expect them to win this but they came back strongly for last few games.Curry was bit unlucky with those 3 point attempts not getting in. Kudos to Cavs defense.

Well the Cavs won. Got to admit expected the Dubs to close this out but tbh they have not looked the same team in the playoffs (not just in this series but throughout) as they did in the regular season. They have looked worn down to me and then the injuries to Bogut and Iguodala (added to Curry's issues) just finished them off. With all that being said, I still believe if Draymond hadn't been suspended for game 5 the Warriors would have pulled it out (for all of Lebron's great performance his standout play was still his take down of Green in game 4). However, at the end of the day all that is supposition and we'll never know. Congrats to Cleveland and roll on next year.

Never thought the Warriors would become so beatable after their regular season. Kudos to the Cavs for having the balls to pull it off.

Well well, great to see that our Nostradamuses told us how this will end at halftime....
Hope no bets were placed on such high convictions. ;)
Yeah yeah I get it, I look like an absolute tool now.

Still pretty shocked that GS choked, I wouldn't have expected the holding NBA champions with the greatest ever regular season record to blow a 3-1 lead.

I'm quite happy though, at least I can feel dignified that the Raptors lost to the eventual champions :)

Unlucky? He was chucking them up with loads of time on the shot clock to spare. That behind the back pass to Klay Thompson was hilarious. He didn't strike me as an intelligent guard in those last few minutes.

LeBron was a beast. That block he made on Iguodala was sick.

Yeah but he usually makes those chucks. The standard definition of a bad shot does not apply to him. That being said, the Warriors could have gotten to the rim more. No one was driving apart from Draymond.

I don't think Steph is 100% and I think it got worse the longer the playoffs went on. Not an excuse 'cause injuries are part of the game. Nevertheless, I think that's why his shots/game are down and also his makes. I don't think he has the lateral movement to get open like he did earlier in the season and I think this also led to the increased number of fouls he picked up throughout the Cavs series in that this lack of lateral movement meant he couldn't move his feet fast enough to avoid contact. However, his brain is still working and he did make some silly decisions late in the game independent of his shooting.

BTW how did Cavaliers get to $109M out of $70M cap space taken? I did not follow their moves but I'm going to assume it's because they probably were allowed to offer very high offers for Irving and Thompson?

It's a soft cap. You can go over the cap to retain the talent you have

OK I got it.

Draft in 3 days. Simmons widely considered the number one pick, Lakers will like Ingram though. Hield at 3 is interesting.

Whether it's on the basketball court or the football pitch you gotta admit Brazilians are some of the best floppers out there...

Shaq dominated a few Finals. So there has been one since Jordan.

All this talk of LeBron being the greatest of all time is annoying and probably conjured up by young journos who didn't see his predecessors play.

Yep. He's still a long way away from Jordan, and there's plenty before MJ too

Yep, and people sometimes forget Jordan won 3 championships in the early 90s then took off two years to play Baseball, then got bored with that and returned to the Bulls to win another 3 championships. Kobe Bryant is usually criminally under represented in these discussions as well.

Kobe shouldn't be in the 2-6 conversation with Lebron, Magic etc. Never mind a comparison with Jordan.

Yes he absolutely should. He's won more Championships than Lebron, scored more points and been pivotal for the Lakers for over 15 years of his 20 year career.
