Aside from Paddy being Paddy, MUTV did a good job with this game. The pundits were genuinely interesting

Mata and Carrick made us tick in the second half. Valencia and Rashford was great on the right. Lingard, well I just don't see what he brings. Depay was a bit more positive.

Except that he had 0 assists and 1 poor shot to his name. Game changers were Rashford, Carrick, Lingard in that order.
Agreed. Young is one of those players that no matter how well he plays offers absolutely zero nothing in goal output.

He added a new dimention to our attack by creating more width (with Mkhi always looking to come inside) and it payed off with us looking threatening down the right.

Well, Ibra hits the ground running, second half looked like United. Shame Bastian wasn't on the bench as I still think he can offer a lot for us and our dressing room.

2nd half was fantastic! Valencia has to be MOTM with 3 assists but I thought Bailly, Rashford, and Carrick were all excellent. Mata and Martial were also really good. Ibra looked great whenever the ball came near him. Rooney wasn't great but still ended up with 2 goals showing why he is still a United player. He will always guarantee at least 15 goals a season. Schneiderlin again showed me in that first half what I already thought, that he can't and most likely never will be able to play as a cdm. He simply doesn't have the positional awareness and there was clear confusion in the first half between Herrera and Morgan over who should be closing down and who should be sitting back which ended up in both being destroyed for Bruma's goal. No problem with Herrera being Pogba's backup but I struggle to see any real benefit of having Schneiderlin right now. Blind is probably our best bet for Carrick's backup though I expect you'll see Carrick and Pogba play almost every Premier League game together this season.

Mkhitaryan was very disappointing today not so much because of him failing to produce when he did get the ball but rather because he was never in the right position to receive the ball. He made it so much more difficult for his team mates to find him by constantly going missing and leaving massive empty spaces on the right. Wasn't impressed with him against Dortmund either and I'm hoping we'll see something more akin to his performance against Wigan going forward though I'm wondering whether his success in that game was simply down to the amount of space Wigan gave us. Somewhat concerned at this stage. Hoping he'll look better against Leicester and Everton if he plays. Rashford is just incredible.

Overall, I'm very happy with our 2nd half performance and I put a lot of our poor performance in the first half down to Carrick not starting which won't happen often this season so definitely a positive display.

with the way Lingard is playing you wonder why some fans want him sold. Quality player and SAF was right about him
I think it's because f his end product that some people don't generally fancy him.

I personally like him, he has incredible work rate, run everyone and get the ball forward but unfortunately he lacks the most important bit a forward/attacking player should have which is his end product.

Be it scoring, final passes or getting the ball through into that dangerous final third, he seems to be coming short more often than not(in fact I always expect him to screw up his last play after doing a good or sometime stellar work getting himself and the ball into a dangerous position than things go south).

Mkhi had zero support inside or outside whenever he recieved the ball. True he didn't attempt dribbling but whats the point of that when there would be no one to cross to in the box.

Rashford's pace and Carrick's passing allowed everyone to move up and give Young players alongside him to play. The system had far more influence on Young that he did on the system.

Valencia overlapped more in the 20 mins of second half than the entire 1st half.

In terms of performances...here is my verdict:

Ibra- 7 (looks physically ready to torment premiership defences)
Rooney- 6 (was going to give a 4 until he scored 2)
Miki - 5 (off the pace a bit today, but I like the player)
Lingard - 8 (so much energy, typifies the United way)
Rashford - 8 (constant threat, looks even more full of confidence...must be the Zlatan effect)
Depay - 7 (much butter, needs to do the simple things right, needs an end product)
Carrick - 8 (swept up everything and good interplay in midfield)
Mata - 9 (wasn't on for long but looked different class)
Martial - 5 (seemed to be out of sorts by his standards - possibly I'm being harsh)
Herrera - 4 (got bossed)
Schneiderlin - 5 (offered very little, didn't do much wrong though)
De Gea - 7 (good save)
Bailly- 6 (seems very raw, his strength got him out of trouble though)
Romero - 6 (little to do)
Jones - 6 (managed to not get injured)
Blind - 6 (seemed ok but we know he gets found out against stronger opposition in that position)
Shaw - 6 (still hasn't recovered his pace and technique charging down the wing, but getting there)
Valencia - 8 (great energy, showed commitment and it paid off with 3 assists)
Young - 7 (also good energy and determination)
Damian- 5 (why was he in that position?)
Rojo- 5 (didn't do much)
Fellaini - 7 (did his job and scored a great header)

United - Kids - Wife In that order!:D

Nurses refused to let me see my sister. Only her boyfriend and my mum were allowed.

I wasn't even allowed to wait in the corridor - they didn't want me roaming up and down whilst there were pregnant women nearby.

:houllier::eek::confused:

He also mentioned TFM as being injured. I thinks this confirms TFM has a place in the squad and won't be loaned out.

Happy that Jose mentioned Timothy, clearly views him as part of the squad. Bit disappointed that it looks as though Andreas is heading out (probably on loan), seemed to impress Jose as well.

Good interview from Jose.

Says all the right things for the fans and the players.
