I wonder what Van Zandt did to .Rossi?

Something bad it would seem.
He's like Smeagol following Springsteen around the stage. I don't like his guitar playing, his music, the way he puts himself across. To me, it's like he thinks it's Bruce Springsteen AND Steve Van Zandt + E Street Band.

Btw, I saw Simon and Garfunkal back in 2004. Very very good if not surreal

In fairness to Stevie, he's been playing in bands with Bruce since before the E-Street Band was formed so it's natural for him to be the leader of the rest of the pack so to say.

I'm struggling to score a ticket for Oakland. What are reputable sites for getting a ticket? anyone ever had any joy just turning up and buying a ticket outside the venue/
Stubhub. Expensive but guaranteed and backed by the company. I'd be wary of buying a ticket outside the venue. Bound to be lots of fakes bouncing around. And feck scalpers.

Now there is a phrase I though I'd never hear.
50 year career, millions of records sold, rare performances, countless sold out concerts, 2 shows attended by more than half a million people, and you're surprised you may find someone who really likes them?

Paul Simon has been probably my mum's favourite artist for most of her life, so yeah I'd pay that for her to see them again if nothing else.

Pretty much - yes. As I said, there is nothing wrong with a bit of Simon and Garfunkle, I like them and Graceland wasn't bad, but I've never heard anyone like them that much. They strike me as being a bit like Fleetwood Mac, good quality easy listening that lots of people like, but I've never met a Fleetwood Mac fanatic.

I think that might be what I was getting at. My folk liked them as well. Right up there with James Last ITO.

Not tryng say that Simon and Garfunkle are terrible like James Last, just that they are the sort of music parents of my folks era (middle aged when S&G were in their prime) loved. I might even go to see them if they ever play near me.

I went to see Fleetwood Mac last year

To further my original point I should add that I'm a tight bugger when it comes to tickets and also financial constraints mean I can't have too many exceptions to my rule, it also doesn't help that a lot of the others who I would add to the list are dead (Bowie a recent addition to that collection.), also the relationship between the two means I'm pretty unlikely to have to prove my claim.

I suppose my argument is seeing as they continue to sell records, and I'm pretty sure would sell lots of tickets for any hypothetical tour statistically you shouldn't be shocked they have a few avid fans, many more fanatical than I would ever be. I've got a friend who travelled Britain following the Super Furry Animals, not something I would do but it didn't surprise me because you can always find devotees for anything regardless of what seems justifiable, just look at the Catholic Church or Anfield if you want further proof.

He sure can. I went expecting to have a pleasant evening and had a far better time than that.

you remember the Patti Smith version right? :)

yeah. love that one too. But Springsteen's version is definitive.
They wrote it together I think. The Patti Smith version came out when I was about 14 and it was one of those songs that everyone seemed to love.

I think Springsteen wrote it by himself originally, then gave it to Smith who only retained the chorus.

Saw him at Hampden on Wednesday night. Probably the best I've seen him. Was an excellent setlist.

Nobody puts on a show like the boss does. No idea how he does it either. Puts every other artist to shame.

Just had a look and that is a hell of a setlist (Johnny99 ), seems he's changed things up from the US leg where they played the whole album in full.

I'm going, couldn't get a ticket when they went on sale so had to fork out £45 in fees to Viagogo, will be my third time seeing the boss.
Damn, the tickets alone weren't cheap. At least when you see the Boss you're guaranteed a great show. From what someone told me because it's a Sunday he's going to be on early, I'm guessing they don't want a repeat of Hyde Park a few years back.

I think they changed it up from the American leg because in Europe it's mostly stadiums they're playing and there's too many ballads on the album for a stadium show compared to an arena. They're going back to America after Europe and doing mostly stadium shows.

Saw Springsteen at the Etihad and thought it was one of his best concerts.

Exactly, I'm not missing him just in case. Shit, I might even get tix for another east coast venue too and make it a Bossman's holiday.

You're closer than me! Can't be much to hop on a flight, do an Air BnB and be back home before she notices.

Night three...four hour gig...amazing setlist...fireworks...simply stunning. The man is 67 so I don't know how much longer he can go on but I'm waiting for the next tour and doing it all over again.

Bruce will go on forever, forever young. My Mums ex-partner runs tours to his shows all over the world, they've run into him a few times and always say he's a genuinely nice guy too. He even recognised some of their faces after only meeting them once or twice before. I have so much time for Bruce.
