Abysmal again, Mou is having a mare. Still messing about with the midfield, doesn't know his best XI.

Fellaini has had some decent games this season but he isn't a DM in a three.

If we're playing with three surely we need Carrick.

Watford should have been 3-0 up. United really playing clueless football not just today but for the last 3 games in a row. Just makes me wonder if Maureen has got a game plan?

No words at that. If players don't pick up at half time I hope this is it for a few of them out there. Valencia, Rooney and Fellaini have been very poor. Rashford and Martial have shown they need more time. We need a spark here

I played in goal for 35 years and have to tall you that is total nonsense.
Christ, another amateur footballer. It's simple, the ball is hit low so if he's going to try and use his arms he has to shift his weight to get his body down, basicly his arms wouldn't be at the height of the ball until the ball is in the back of the net, not to mention that he needs to have enough force to actually block the shot. The best chance to save the shot is using his feet.

I'm amazed even an amateur footballer having played in goal for 35 years doesn't know that.

It's like Van Gaal era all over again

Slow as feck build up play, let the opposition build solid defensive foundations. Valencia not delivering first time balls, instead hitting the closest player.

I just don't get it. It's as if we have been given a template we have to abide to

He's been far from our worst player today, but of course he'll get all the blame because it's fashionable. Why not blame Rashford, who has been hot garbage? Or Smalling, who has reverted back to his old self and looks utterly clueless? Or Ibra, who offers nothing except the ability to finish chances and can't even't do that half-functionally today making him worse than useless?

But no, it's all Rooney's fault.
He is severely holding our team back. Best paid, longest serving, captain.. Herrera instead of him would do wonders for our team right now. Of course it would help not having Fellaini as dm.

Just bring on Carrick or Herrera. Fellaini and Pogba can't provide an ounce of tempo to the side while also maintaining a presence in front of the defense
Carrick brings control, if you want tempo you bring on Herrera. I would take Rooney off, put Herrera on and replace Fellaini with Carrick.

We have zero creativity and no variation - get it wide and put a poor cross into the box. Look at City's imagination. We are nowhere near.

This game reminds me of that 5-3 game vs. Leicester at the King Power.

They showed the more aggression and desire to win every ball and broke our spirit.

Except we're not going to score 3 today.

    So frustrating.

Top 4 at best in my opinion. There are atleast 6 teams who look 5x better than us. Once again we are making a poor opponent look brilliant. We made Hull look phenomenal, Arsenal turn up 2 weeks later and smash them to pieces.

Its been absolutely shocking, but Mourinho cant turn around the last 3 years of shite in 5 games. Weve got to be patient.
Having said that, the Rooney situation is infuriating. Shoehorning him into the team is ridiculous seeing as he is absolutely past it.
I thought Mourinho of all people would be the one to say enough is enough with Rooney. There is so much better options out there. Heck there is better options in our squad in the form of Herrera.

Since our squad is full of names who sound like good or very good footballers, we as fans are temped to demand subs all the time. We could call it "sub-topia" since we still believe that a specific sub could bring us one step closer to utopia.

Bring Herrera. Take Rooney off. We need Carrick. Memphis could be the right player now. It was wrong to start without Mata. And so on.

Seriously, from now on I won't take part in sub-topian debates anymore. I don't care who is on the bench. I care why those players on the pitch are not even close to their best football.

it's actually incredible how better Watford is at creating chances, while we almost play like Celtic. it's only matter of luck that it's still only 1-0.

It's hard to truly to criticize individual players when bar de Gea, everybody has been underwhelming, which appears to be more of a result of the team as a unit playing poorly than just individual players playing poorly.
Even De Gea hasn't been good

We just sit off teams. Wait for them to play hoping to hit them on the counter. Lost interest

Second best all over the pitch to an average Watford team. There is something fondeumentaly with this team. Changes needed at half time.

I am not sure how so much money can be spent over the last several years and this is what we get in return.

Which fans are positive when they are losing?
if the away fans took the same mentality as some on here, they would be on the way up the M1 now. Sometimes you have to be positive than knee jerk comments. Some of the stuff I've read is beyond a joke...

I didn't say it was all Rooney's fault so wipe away your tears.

I said he's utter fecking shit which he has been.
This. Everyone's been shit but Rooney's been that bit extra shit, utter fecking shit as you put it. Simple passes have gone out of play, shots in great areas have been sliced out wide, first touches similar to that of Paddy McGuinness in Soccer Aid. Bloody shit.

Did Savage at the end just call that foul on Rashford a great challenge because it put the striker off?

I know he was a serial fouler in his day but he seems to think everything is a good challenge.

Take Martial off, put Memphis on, He has great hold up play, we keep getting it to the final third and rushing it and getting tackled, or intercepted or blocked.

Elephant in the room is still Rooney and the fact Jose doesn't want to get him off.

Sure it isn't the only problem but it's a big one.

Best part is we had our chances but are completely clueless in front of goal.
    What's happening with our confidece.

Problem is I don't see Jose making a sub until 70th or so minute.

Under LVG I didn't care so much when we played like shit, but under Mourinho it pisses me off. Yes I know it takes a while for a team to play like one and gain cohesion/learn each other's playing styles. I understand that but this is just wank. How have we broken the world record transfer fee and Zlatan and we still play like shit?

What an absolute fecking embarrassment this United team are. An absolute bunch of gutless, overpaid wankers that think they have a god given right to win without putting any effort in.

They'd struggle to beat the Dog & Duck at this rate.

Doesn't matter who plays where and what formation they're in, they have no mental strength whatsoever.

Rooney hasn't actually been the worst player today. but he still should offer more as a No. 10 in our team and so should Ibra, Rashford, Martial and Pogba. Rooney is still a good passer of the ball but he just doesn't have the legs left to run or control the ball in his position and make a correct pass. His only contribution remains when he comes deep with the ball and makes a good pass. With the number of tall players we have in the team You'd expect we'd win most balls but that hasn't been the case either. Fellaini hasn't been crap today but I still don't understand what he offers to the team.
